Two Round Mock Draft for the NFL Draft ‘07

After NFL Combine March

1. Oakland - 2-14 -* JaMarcus Russell QB 6-6, 255 LSU

Raiders need new leadership and Russell would be fine addition.

2. Detroit - 3-13 * Adrian Peterson RB 6-1, 220 Oklahoma Lions would love this feature back despite adding Tatum Bell in trade.

x - 3. Cleveland - 4-12 - Joe Thomas OT 6-7, 310 Wisconsin Browns have to find a way to protect QB Frye and Thomas would be too good to pass on here.

4. Tampa Bay - 4-12 - * Calvin Johnson WR 6-4, 235 Georgia Tech Bucs are sitting and hoping the best player in the draft falls to them here.

Texans defense has several blue chip players and another top cover man can put this unit up another level.

9. Miami - 6-10 - LaRon Landry FS 6-2, 205 LSU

Dolphins are looking for an impact defender in secondary and Landry would be an early starter.

10. Atlanta - 7-9 - * Jamaal Anderson DE 6-6, 255 Arkansas Falcons will have to replace Patrick Kerney and probably look to this spot with their #1 pick.

11. San Francisco - 7-9 - * Ted Ginn WR 6-0, 180 Ohio St 49ers’ offense needs a premier playmaker and Ginn can strike from anywhere.

12. Buffalo - 7-9 - * Lawrence Timmons LB 6-3, 230 Florida St. Bills defense suffered some FA losses and a speedy backer would be a great addition here.

13. St. Louis - 8-8 - Amobi Okoye DT 6-2, 290 Louisville

Rams are looking to this guy to be a difference maker on their disappointing front four.

14. Carolina - 8-8 - Levi Brown OT 6-5, 325 Penn St.

Panthers will probably address the tackle spot early and Brown is flying up the charts.

16. Green Bay - 8-8 - Michael Griffin SS 6-0, 200 Texas

Packers have problems in the secondary and along their front four.

18. Cincinnati - 8-8 - * Greg Olsen TE 6-5. 255 Miami

Bengals passing game needs some impact on the inside and Olsen is a blue chip performer.

Broncos defense needs a stud pass rusher and Carriker is flying up the charts.

22. Dallas - 9-7 - * Chris Houston CB 5-10, 180 Arkansas Boys will be hard pressed to pass on this fast cover man, though not their biggest need position.

23. Kansas City - 9-7 - * Jarvis Moss DE 6-6, 255 Florida Chiefs will debate a pass rusher and cover man in the early rounds and Moss is moving up quickly.

24. New Eng (Seat) - 9-7 - Aaron Ross CB 6-0, 195 Texas Patriots secondary could suffer FA losses and with injuries and aging players this could be the focus of one of their two #1 picks.

I don't see Green Bay passing on RBs in both rounds.

Im not big on Lynch in the first so I like that pick, or Nelson...but think they go RB in the 2nd.

Jarrett to the Steelers is interesting. Was Burress a similar prospect when he came out of MSU? I don't remember what his timed speed was.

Falcons shouldn't even be considering drafting a QB at all, much less a second rounder unless they trade Schaub.

I just don't see the Lions taking AD/AP/Adrian Peterson. I mean, they've got other needs IMO, and while I think Peterson will be a stud, I just don't see it. The unfortunate part is that if they don't take him, he could fall pretty far with Cleveland landing J. Lewis, and Tampa/AZ/Wash not needing RB's.

He STILL has KC taking a DE....does he already know of a Jared Allen trade lol.Allen and Hali are dang good DE's
In 2002 the Eagles took Lito Sheppard AND Sheldon Brown at CB in Rounds 1 & 2 even though they had Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor who were both dang good CB's at the time. Allen and Hali can't play every snap and since the game is won and lost in the trenches having a DE rotation would be a wise thing.

I'm not sure I see Buffalo passing on Okoye or Brown for a LB.
Buffalo may pass on Okoye but it will be for Willis to play MLB- not Timmons.
The Bills just spent a ton on the OL- they will not draft Levi Brown at #12.
Actually, with all the FA's they signed they still have yet to get someone to play opposite Peters. Langston Walker played tackle at Oakland but I have been hearing reports that he might be moved to guard where he is better suited. Levi Brown would solidify that O-line in a big way. But lets hope we don't have to worry about who they're taking at 1.12 since they are moving up to take Peterson. :banned:

And why would they take another SS? I think Whitner is doing just fine.
Rouse has talked about possibly being moved to LB by various teams. Not saying that's why this guy mocked him here. Just saying it could be why Rouse gets picked by a team that needs LBs instead of safeties.
I guess that makes much more sense. I haven't heard too much about him but with Crowell possibly moving to MLB we could use a speedy LB to replace him. He's a big boy and sounds like he has the size to play LB.

Yea more and more teams are adopting revolving defensive lines

It would not shock me to see them pass on rbs for defensive value.
I agree with this. If Thompson has an issue with Lynch's character or if he is off the board. I could see the Packer go defense is round 1 and take a wr in round 2. If they sign Droughns, it would give them a one year fix with Morency. He really wants to build this defense.

Agreed if they sign and RB it could happen. And if not Nelson or Griffith in round one...maybe Weddle in the 2nd.But other than safety and maybe later depth at corner...not sure what D he is going to go after.DE? Not with the money they have in KGB, Kampman and Jenkins now.DT? Seems pretty set with a pretty solid rotation (Cole, Pickett, Williams, Jolley, and even Jenkins in a pinch)I see them doing more for depth at DT or DE later in the draft...but not in the 1st 2 round for sure, and I doubt in the 1st day they draft any defense except a safety.

In recent history see NO Saints and NY Giants. It is not unusual at all. But, overall, this draft is bad. Bengals going TE in the 1st...original. He must have been using mock drafts from the past three years as reference. It will not happen...when will people get that. Bengals passing attack is fine, but they absolutely need defensive help...a lot, especially DB and DL and you do not get good players at those positions in later rounds.
