There was a debate about a week ago about who you'd take to start a franchise. Would it be a stud LT? QB? LB? Well, let's find out your strategery.I've wanted to do this for a long time. It's similar to a Madden or ESPN type draft were ALL players go into the player pool. 16 "teams" own 2 teams each. If we can't find enough people, we'll do 10 with 3 and 1 with 2.1. Build teams from scratch. Draft order follows current 1st round NFL draft.2. The draft culminates with a 2 round mock draft of the current college prospects.Rosters:Offense:1 QB2 RB3 WR1 TE2 T2 G1 C3 flex = 15 picksDefense (team will decide pre-draft if it's 4-3 or 3-4):If 4-3: 4 linemen/3 LBsIf 3-4: 3 linemen/4 lbs4 DBs2 flex= 13 picksSpecial Teams:1 P1 K= 2 picksWith the two college draftees, that would make it 32 rounds. So as you can tell, we only need the most serious of people. A 30 minute time limit will be implemented between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM central time. Skipped teams can take their make up pick at any time (like the Vikings).Co-owners are permitted AND encouraged.I'm certain this will end up as a :tfp: but what the heck, let's give it a try.I don't have Madden or ESPN for my Xbox anymore. If someone wanted to plug it in when we're done, I'd be interested in seeing how it turned out.

 
Man I'd love to do this, but I'm afraid I wont be able to put the time in as I'm in the middle of a relocation for work. :(

 
In.This is for starting a franchise right now, correct? So, Brett Favre would not be a very good pick.What about coaches? How about drafting a HC, OC, and DC?

Let's do it as if you had to take the field with your team the week after the draft. All players would have their CURRENT skill set.

The draft would be long enough without coaches. So I'd say no, unless there's interest from others.

I could be up for this. Assuming a snake draft(otherwise the Seahawks and Steelers would get mightily shafted).

 
What is the time frame you are trying to work with here. When do you want to start and when do you HOPE to finish the draft? Maybe I can squeeeeeeeez this in. :unsure:

Why no serpentine?

In Madden, its serpentine if you do a franchise draft. There is no way that the teams will be balanced equally without serpentine. The team drafting first should have the best team, and so on. The teams drafting 20-32 would definitely be the bottom tier teams.I'm in if you do serpentine, but if you want your draft to be same order throughout all rounds I'll pass. (If seprentine, is anyone interested in being co-owner and doing one roster and I'll do the other?)

 
I'm in. I'd like to draft for the Panthers as a homer but I will do whoever. Is anyone out there interested in being a co-owner and doing the other roster? We can collab. via PM, email, AIM, or MSN Mess. Let me know.

 
I have Front Office Football 2004 http://www.solecismic.com/fof/index.php which many of you on this site would probably enjoy playing. As a football simulation, it blows any console game out of the water. It has provided me, without question, my most pleasurable gaming moments(weeks). I'm fairly sure I can load the selections into the game.

We should randomize the draft order for the rookie portion of the draft so that those team owners at the top don't draft knowing what they'd get in the rookie draft.Agreed?

The rookie draft at the end would be the "carrot on the stick" that just may drive this thing to completion.
 
Go ahead and start PM'ing me with the teams you would like to represent.We'll do a coin flip if there are duplicates.I'd like the Vikings.

 
If by "co-owner" you mean I get to have one team then I'm in.

By co-owner I mean there are two owners talking about how to put their two teams togehter. Like Orange Crush and Koya. They're part of the same ownership group and they'll have two franchises to build.
 
Are we going about this as if it was a "win the superbowl THIS YEAR" team, or more of a dynasty?

 
andy, i think ur getting enough interested that if some owners agree to only one team, you will have more peopleid like to play too, owning my own team, but if not id like to participate someway.let me know, thanksedit-if andy doesnt want to split teams, if any owner who's "in" doesnt want two teams id gladly take one, thanks

Seems to make sense. I'd like to have the Panthers and whoever else is left if I need to do two.
