New Dynasty league starting (1 Viewer)

Marty

Footballguy
I started a new dynasty league that is different that what I normally commish in terms of larger rosters and taxi squad. I wanted something deeper than the normal 20 player roster dynasty leagues I've been in and running.

This league consists of 26 active roster spots, 4 taxi squad spots, and 3 IR spots. Here is the league Bylaws.

Scoring is typicall WCOFF rules. Find them here

Although I do not have all the non-scoring rules completed, they are very close. I'd like to get this league filled before 100% finalizing everything. You can find these rules here

I've decided that the league buy-in will be $26.50 paid via paypal.

As mentioned, I currently commish 3 dynasty leagues that have been active for about 5 years now. I've been playing FF since 1997.

PM me or post at the invision board if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Edit to add: This most likely will be a slow timer draft, but with dates/times that I will encourage everyone to be online.

The following is still a work in progress, but is probably 95% complete:

INTRODUCTION

Ready to Battle (RB) is a Dynasty leagues that will look to continue to grow and increase competition with rules twists that will open up new avenues for Fantasy Football. The Commissioner will oversee any issues or conflicts in any league and their ruling will be final.

This league will be divided up into 3 Divisions of 4 teams each.

I. TEAM IDENTITIES

Team names will be selected using a warrior from history and a team name of your choosing . For example; Roman Legions. There will only be one team allowed in any one league with the same name.

II. ROSTERS

A. Rosters may consist of any combination of players. Rosters are limited to 26 players.

B. Rosters may be expanded to 30 players from the start of the annual rookie draft until three days following the final NFL preseason game of the year. Rosters must be reduced to 26 players at midnight of the 3rd day. The additional four players during this period of time are not limited to rookie players.

III. STARTING LINEUPS

A. Each Ready to Battle Dynasty team must consist of the following starting lineup during each week of the season:

1 QB

2 RB

3 WR

1 Flex (RB/WR)

1 TE

1 K

1 Def

B. If no lineup is submitted by a team, their previous week’s lineup will be used.

C. Should an owner fail to submit a starting lineup for two weeks in a row, the commissioner shall warn the owner that his status as an owner is in jeopardy. If the owner fails to respond and/or a starting lineup fails to be posted for the third week, the commissioner shall call for a vote to remove the owner from RB.

IV. SCORING

The league will use league site for final scoring rules

V. TIEBREAKERS

A. Game ties stand in the regular season.

B. End of Season Tiebreakers - The following is the tie-breaking scheme should two or more teams have identical records at the end of the season:

1. Overall winning %

2. Head to Head Winning %

3. Division Winning % (If in same division)

4. Total Points Scored

5. Total Points Against

6. Coin Flip

Tiebreakers are applied within divisions first. During the season, tiebreaker for waiver claims will remain the same as before (overall winning % and total points).

C. Playoff & Championship Game Tiebreakers - In the extremely unlikely event that a playoff or championship game ends in a tie, the tiebreaker will be as follows:

1. Team with highest total bench score wins

2. Highest single bench player score (down the line until a winner can be determined)

VI. SCHEDULE AND PLAYOFFS

A) The Schedule will assign head-to-head match-ups with an emphasis on division competition.

RB plays a 13 week regular season schedule.

C) 6 teams will make the playoffs. The 3 division winners and three wild card, based on most points scored by a non-division winner.

D) Week 14 is the first week of the playoffs Two division winners based on best record (winning %) and then Head-to-Head will receive week 14 byes

E) Weeks 15 - four remaining teams will be re-seeded based on regular season record (winning %) and Head to Head

F) Week 16 - Championship game

G) Toilet bowl - 6 remaining teams will play in a similar playoffs as above. This will not affect next year's draft status

VII. TEAM FINANCES

A. League dues are $26.50 via paypal ($25 via snail mail). Paypal is preferred payment method. Payments are made to commissioner.

VIII. FREE AGENTS

A. During the season only three free agents may be signed per week. Free agents will be rewarded on Wednesday night at midnight based upon worst-to-best team records during the season. All times are eastern time. If teams with identical records attempt to claim the same player in the same waiver period the team with the lowest total points scored for the season will be awarded the player.

B. There will be a FCFS period from Thurday noon to Saturday Midnight each week. The 3 player a week pickup rule will still be in effect during the FCFS.

C. During the season once a player is dropped, he is "locked" until the next time waivers are processed.

D. During the off-season, free agency begins one week after the annual draft and ending at the start of regular season play. Free agents are awarded on a rolling deadline basis to the highest bidder in open bid format.

IX. Open

X. INAUGURAL and ROOKIE DRAFT

A. The Inaugural Veteran Draft for RB will be a serpentine draft order that is determined by a pre draft random dice rolling device online. The inaugural Rookie Draft for RB will be a serpentine draft order that is determined by a separate pre draft random dice rolling device online.

All other years the rookie draft will be straight order based upon:

1. Super Bowl winner will pick 12th in each round.

2. Super Bowl loser will pick 11th in each round.

3. All remaining clubs are ranked according to their W-L record. Ties among clubs with identical regular season records are broken as follows:

a. Playoff clubs will pick after non-playoff clubs with identical records.

b. Ties among playoff clubs are broken with the club that exited the playoffs first picking first.

c. Remaining ties among clubs with identical records are broken by total points, with fewer points picking first.

d. Ties remaining are broken by coin toss / random number generation.

E. Owners will be given 12 hours to make their selection. If a draft pick is missed, the owner will not be allowed to make up the pick until 12 draft spots have passed.

XI. INACTIVE AND INJURED RESERVE (THIS STILL NEEDS WORK)

A. Owners may place any player on the injured reserve list if he is also on the NFL’s injured reserve list.

B. Any player placed on injured reserve will remain on the list until the conclusion of the RB playoffs. Any player remaining on Inactive Status must be activated at the conclusion of the RB playoffs.

C. Each team will be strictly limited to 3 IR spots.

XII. TRANSACTIONS

A. Trading - Any combinations of players and/or draft picks may be traded. These are the only assets that may be traded.

B. No trades may be made that include real cash, future considerations, or a player to be named later.

C. When draft picks are involved in a trade, only draft picks for the current draft year (January 1 through December 31) and/or following draft year may be traded. Example 1: After the '06 draft through the end of the season, only picks for the '07 draft are available. Example 2: After completion of the '06 season up to the '07 draft, picks are available for the '07 and '08 draft.

D. Before a trade becomes final it must be accepted by all both parties. There will be no commissioner approval needed.

E. Any trade that appears to be suspicious or detrimental to the integrity of the league will be reviewed by the Commissioner. Their decision is final.

F. No trades may be made between the start of the Week 11 game and the conclusion of the championship game.

G. When multiple trades containing the same player(s) and or pick(s) are initiated with multiple teams, the first team to accept the trade will cause all other trades with these same player(s) and or pick(s) to be voided. There will be no discussion about subsequent trade acceptances."

XIII. GOVERNANCE

A. Each Ready to Battle Dynasty league will have one Commissioner and one Deputy Commissioner.

The deputy commissioners will be hand picked by Emmittfan.

B. The RB deputy Commissioners are vested with the following powers and responsibilities:

Commissioner:

1. Interpret the Rulebook as he sees just and fit.

2. Settle all position eligibility questions.

3. Approve team name assignments.

4. Preside over the draft and settle draft disputes.

5. Determine playoff seeding in accordance with the Rulebook.

6. Have an equal vote on all league matters related to Amendments to the Rulebook.

7. Provide to the owners regular and timely updates on game results, standings, and rosters.

8. Provide a forum that allows for and encourages interaction between team owners.

9. Abide by the Rulebook in all league matters while making sure the owners do the same.

Deputy Commissioner:

1. Preside as chief record keeper for the league

2. Responsible for keeping the rosters and draft picks accurate on the site.

3. Responsible for setting up dates and details for the annual rookie draft.

4. Have an equal vote on all league matters related to Amendments to the Rulebook.

5. Responsible for handling the free agency process.

6. Works with commissioner on site development (MFL).

7. Maintains accurate information on owners, such as emails, IMs, etc.

8. Is the chief assistant to the commissioner on rules enforcement in the event that the

commissioner is away for an extended period of time.

XIV.EXTRAORDINARY SITUATIONS

A. Inactive Owner

If, during the course of the season, an owner has not sent in a lineup for two consecutive weeks without notifying the league commissioner beforehand, the commissioner will officially warn the owner in question via e-mail that further acts of non-participation will result in the owner being subject to removal from the league. If the owner in question does not respond to this e-mail or does not submit a lineup for a third consecutive week, the commissioner shall recommend to the league that the owner be removed from the league.

B. Removal & Replacement of Owner

This is an extremely serious consideration, one which the league will seek to avoid at all costs. If it arises, this path will be followed:

1. Three (3) League owners together or the commissioner may recommend that an owner be removed.

2. If a super majority of the league owners (9 of 12, or 3/4) votes to remove the owner, the owner is removed from the league. If the same owner is brought up for removal twice in the same 12 month period, then the matter will be turned over to The Commission for a decision.

3. If an Owner is removed, the commissioner assumes control of the team and a replacement owner shall be located as soon as possible. If a list of alternate owners exists, the commissioner shall choose the next available alternate owner and extend him the offer of membership in the league. If the new owner accepts, he or she will inherit the team's roster, Dollars, any draft picks acquired by trade, and draft position for the coming season.

C. Removal & Replacement of Deputy Commissioner

Removing a leader is also an extremely serious situation. If a condition arises which requires the consideration of a removal from office, this path will be followed:

1. Three (3) League Owners recommend that the Deputy Commissioner be removed.

2. If a super majority of the league owners (9 of 12) vote to remove the Deputy commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner is removed from the leadership.

3. The Commissioner can also remove his Deputy if the Deputy has not performed his duties over an extended period without any prior notice. If the Commissioner decides to remove the Deputy, he must make a brief for The Commission and they will rule on the decision to remove the Deputy.

D. Owner Turnover

1. If going into any season there has been a turnover of owners of 6 teams or greater, the entire league will start with a completely new draft as in the initial season.

2. If there is turnover of more than 1 team in any given league, then the new owners will go through a Replacement Owners Draft of all players on the abandoned teams. The draft picks from each team that has left will be packaged as a group and draftable as one draft pick.

XV.STATS AND PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

A. All player stats and positional eligibility will be considered final by whatever is reflected on MFL.

XVII. RULE CHANGES

A. Amendments to the Rules can be proposed at any time in the correct thread in the RB Rule Amendments forum. They will be discussed as the season progresses, and all pertinent rule changes will be voted on or around February 1st of the following season. If a Commissioner or a group of 5 owners thinks that a rule needs to be changed right away, then a vote will be taken and must receive at least 8 of the 12 votes to pass at that time and put right into effect. If this happens, the rule change will not be retroactive to the start of the season. This allows for an emergency vote in the event an issue cannot wait until the next voting session.

B. If approved, the rule change becomes a permanent part of the Rulebook and assumes equal status with all other rules.

I think I'd like to be a part of this thing... There's no mention of how players are kept though.. just straight everyone is kept as long as you want them deal?

I would maybe even be open to upping the ante in terms of entry fees a little bit... if the other owners are willing to vote on it as well.

Also... If I join, any chacne we could change the background and/or color scheme on the home page? Maybe it's just me, but I find all the grey, dark green and light green on green to be tough to read.

Could I forward along to some people to consider?

Hi. It's a dynasty league so pretty much everyone is kept year to year with the exception of those that you want to drop before the draft. As for entry fee, we can put it to a vote. I don't see it going more than $50 though. The background can be changed. I agree. I just have not found anything else yet that I liked with the name of the league. feel free to pass this along to others. Thanks, Marty

I'm down!
Similar to the post directly above, I will need your email address and to register at the invision site. Thanks!4 (maybe 5) spots remaining. Thanks!
Marty, I would really like to be a part of this league. I'm been playing fantasy football for 10 years and specialize in dynasty leagues. Recently 4 dynasty leagues I was a part of folded due to a weak commisioner and you seem to have your stuff together. I will pm you my e-mail address. Thanks
