I am looking to guage some interest on two new higher stakes dynasty leagues that I am looking to start up this year. I am trying to see how many experienced players would want to join a dynasty league with a buy-in between 300-500.
Due to the high buy-in and high liklihood of failure with high stakes dynasty, I am looking for experienced players who would be willing to give at least a 5 year committment. As a result, the first 2 years would require deposits so that if an owner failed to return, it would be easier to fill his team. Because of the deposit, this will lessen the chance of turnover, since you pre-pay half of year 2 in the initial year. Below would be an example of the fee structure for both leagues:
300
Year 1: 300 + 150 deposit = 450
Year 2: 300 + 75 deposit = 375
Year 3: 250
Year 4: 225
Year 5: 200
500
Year 1: 500 + 250 deposit = 750
Year 2: 500 + 125 deposit = 625
Year 3: 450
Year 4: 375
Year 5: 300
After Year 5 it would be decided on by the league how to proceed (whether keep going as dyn or change to redraft, etc.). Also, any trades of future draft picks would require a full payment of the following years' fees before the trade will be processed. This is another deterrent against turnover for these leagues.
Also, since these are high stakes leagues, there is a bit more flexibility with the payouts and since money market accounts will yield enough interest to cover site fees, a true 100% in payouts can be achieved:
300
1st: 1,800
2nd: 750
3rd: 300
4th: 150
Bye Winners (2): 150
Total Points: 200
Consol: 100
Total Payouts 3,600 with site covered by interest
500
1st: 3,000
2nd: 1,250
3rd: 500
4th: 250
Bye Winners (2): 250
Total Points: 300
Consol: 200
Total Payouts 6,000 with site covered by interest
Consolation brackets would also determine draft order for the following year with 1st & 2nd place receiving the #1 & #2 picks respectively. This, along with the consol prize would help combat any tanking that may occur with teams vying to gain the #1 draft pick.
I have not set up any scoring on a website yet, but the league would be housed on MFL and a quick rundown of the scoring would be as follows:
All decimal scoring:
1 pt/ 25 yards passing
4 pt/ Pass TD
1 pt/ 10 yards Rush or Rec
6 pt/ Rush or Rec TD
1 pt/ reception
Standard scoring for kicker & defenses.
There will also be VP implemented in the standings to help even out the luck factor:
Win = 2 VP
Tie = 1 VP
Loss = 0 VP
Top 1-4 Weekly Teams = 2 VP
Mid 5-8 Weekly Teams = 1 VP
Bot 9-12 Weekly TEams = 0 VP
I am guessing that rosters will be between 22-25, but discussions on this can be handled once we have some interested owners.
If you have any interest in these leagues, shoot me a PM and once I can get enough, I will set up the MFL site with all the rules. Thanks.
