New Dynasty Startup (1 Viewer)

I am starting a new dynasty league on MFL for 2012 that is now filling franchise spots. It is a 16 team league divided into 4 divisions. Full IDP and PPR with 11 offensive starters, 11 defensive starters, 45 man active roster, Practice Squad, and IR list. It is a salary cap league with player contracts. Rosters will be filled via auction free agent format, and there will be a standalone rookie draft. The annual entry fee is $75, although as a startup I am requiring new owners to pay the first 2 years of buy ins up front, or $150 for both 2012 and 2013 as a proof of commitment level. All league funds will be managed on leaguesafe. Yearly payouts are not only for 1st thru 3rd place finishers, but prizes for things such as weekly high scorer, high scorer for the year, division winner, the NFL Pick'em Pool winner, etc. Non playoff teams will also play a 'Toilet Bowl' bracket during the playoffs where the winner gets an extra draft pick at the end of the first round. The league website can be viewed here:

Contenders Dynasty League

Please view the league rule book and the scoring setup and if you are interested please send me an email. Contenders Dynasty League aims to be a hyper-active collection of fantasy football fanatics. Is that you?

You had me until the starter requirements for WR and RB.

Min 4 to max 6 WRs started each week x16 teams = 64 to 96 WRs needed to start every week (including bye weeks)

Min 2 to max 3 RBs started each week x16 teams = 32 to 48 RBs needed to start every week (including bye weeks)

Personally never been a fan of huge starting lineup requirements that basically require you to take zeros for starter positions since there are not enough game active players to fill those. Good luck filling your league though.

With the league becoming so pass heavy, the pool of playable WRs is becoming quite large. I want teams playing guys who are risky, or even still developmental. WR64 last year was someone like Greg Little or Santana Moss who averaged something like 7 pts a game. Even WR96 was someone like Kyle Williams or Hines Ward averaging 5 pts a game. As far as RBs, most NFL teams these days play a committee. The days of the stud workhorse are quickly fading. RB32 area was Ben Tate or DeMarco Murray last year. RB48 was James Starks or Kendall Hunter. Those are still playable options. I want owners having to evaluate the fringe talent of the league and spot guys with potential. I don't want everyone to just be able to print out a standard cheatsheet ranking the 32 starters from the NFL and have that be enough. This is the kinda of league for guys who like to watch alot of football and read scouting reports.

I get what you are saying, I just don't see how it will work out during bye weeks when say 4 NFL teams are off. Those above names may be starting for you most weeks, but even so you will have about nothing for a bench. And God forbid one of your starters gets injured. Your season would be over since there would be nothing on the waivers.

Its not for everyone, but I play in a couple similar leagues and you would be surprised what is available on the wire.

9 spots remaining.
