I'm surpised they left Ben in there.  He's killing you with turnovers. If Maddox played this entire game, I bet he at least doesn't throw an INT that goes for a TD.Looking at 4TDs vs 10INTs now if the call holds up.
WOULD YOU SHUT UP! What do you know about QB's. Tim Couch, Jeff Garcia, Kosar and Testeverde were all great weren't they?
Ok, now you guys are crossing into stinky bait territory. I figure some Steeler fans will attack me after this loss.
Hi BG,I think honestly, once you start with the "I hope Cohwer stays in Pittsburgh forever" line, nobody gives you much thought after that.J

Are you saying that even tho I am a Browns fan, I should root for the Steelers?

Looking back is easy there. Outside of injury (and you can argue the thumb maybe) I leave Roethlisberger there easily. This isn't fantasy football. J
Like I said, I bench him week 16 vs the Giants.
I just can't believe you are serious. How do you bench your undefeated, first round, franchise QB after a bad game that they won. You are hillarious.

No, I'm saying when you say something like that, people stop paying attention to you.J

Actually he's just saying stuff like this FOR attention. Sadly he wasn't hugged enough as a child.  Don't feed the trolls, nothing to see when BGP posts about anything.

Well, I guess I would do things differently than you. You must agree I was correct. He didn't just struggle today, he struggled in the Jets win as well. I guess Cowher is still a great coach to some.

The Pats have almost 30 rushing attempts and the Steelers are still holding pretty strong. That D's going to be good again next year.

Why? Its just a joke...Do I have to be stright button-down serious with every post?Or do you think I was also serious when I said the Chunky Soup commercial was going to zing Ben?

What a way for the Steelers to go out....they were a victim of numerous bad circumstances and a questionable field goal (IMO they should have went for a TD, that was no time to play conservative ball). I dont know how the Eagles are gonna do it, I see the SB playing out a little like this one but ill take the Pats by 7.

Deion Branch with another late season performance to fool fantasy football owners everywhere.

Go for a 42 yard field goal at Heinz?  Try for first down?  Try to draw them offsides and the go for the field goal?
Try for first down. That's classic Belichick right there.
That's the class move. Cowher did the same earlier this year.J
Along with scoring another TD? ;) Like I said, Branch = difference maker in this game. Dillon will be in the Super Bowl.
Yes, the class move is to try and score the TD vs taking the "easy" points with a FG. J

Wow, what a year for the Boston area. Pats win the SB, Boston wins the WS, Pats are going back to the SB, John Kerry.... well, you can't win 'em all Boston.

Phill Simms: "Bill Cowher has found his Tom Brady" when discussing Roethlisberger.Sure he has potential but how can you say that and have any credibility?

I agree, unless McNabb decides he is going to run for 100+ I don't see how the Eagles stay close. The Pats secondary will abuse Stinkston, Mitchell, and Lewis all day long and Westbrook will be contained for the most part as I'm sure he will get extra attention.

The last 15-1 team was the 1998 Minnesota Vikings. They lost to the Falcons 30-27 at home in the NFC title game.I think these Steelers are now the most overrated 15-1 team ever.
I want to go back to this comment from earlier. I know you enjoyed watching one of your closest rivals lose a big game, but I think we got to see that it was way off base. I have a lot of respect for what the Steelers did all year. What we learned here is what we knew all along - they've been able to get away with being a one trick pony because they've been so good at what they do, and Roethlisberger is a very talented rookie QB who has a nice looking future ahead of him. They've got a great stable of backs, and a great D, Ward is a top WR, and Burress and Randel El are no slouches, but they're vulnerable if they get behind early to a top team. I don't think this takes anything away from what the Steelers did this year. I don't know how much longer their current window is, though, because they're so reliant on Bettis (32) and Staley (29). They need to look for a big back in the draft if they want to keep the team going as constituted. A surehanded speed receiver wouldn't hurt either. I feel bad for Bettis. Along with Curtis Martin he's one of my favorite rival players. It's too bad he ran into the Pats during the Steelers' two most recent runs at the AFC. Good luck next year Steelers fans.

If Deion was waving good bye at the defensive player going into the endzone, then that lacks class. Anyone have that on TiVo?
I do and yes he was waving at the Steeler. Not lack of class, just an "F.U." to all the non-believers.

Given Branch's ADP of 12.06 (AFTER Vinatieri) in 2004, I doubt there was a huge groundswell of support or "fooling" based on any late season performances. It was Givens who had a decent 2nd half (compared to the first half) that had everyone saying would be the best WR this season for the Pats. All they did was switch stats from the previous year. Of course I'd consider Branch's better because he had more healthy WR competition than Givens did this year. Heck, David Patten was the big winner this year on the Pats, not Givens.

somehow, I don't think credibility is something you need to worry too much about

So much for the stat I just looked up. If the score had stood at 34-20, it would have been the exact reverse of the score that Pitts beat NE by earlier in the season. That being said, 30 was the most points the Steelers allowed in the regular season. Twice. One was in week 2 against Balt. - the only loss this year (till now, assuming the inevitable). They have giving up 41 so far. That is a masterful job by the NE offense, helped by the 3 turnovers by Roth. of course.Mike

Thats exactly what he did, just after Phil Simms beamed about how the Patriots had no players that stood out or made themselves bigger than the team or drew attention to themselves.Good think he didn't mention displaying a total lack of class in that list of superlatives.

Do you think he was doing that out of class?
Hi BS,Yes, I think that's how he plays the game. When the option is taking a FG or keep trying for the TD, the class move is to bypass the points and keep plugging.J

We'll be right back here discussing those 2 before the smoke clears from the Super Bowl.Edit: sorry, discussing those THREE
