Five Minute Drill

ON Networks and Footballguys are proud to announce the release of the second episode of The Five Minute Drill, the fastest-paced fantasy football TV show on the planet. Each week on The Drill, our own Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom deliver insightful and enjoyable fantasy analysis in rapid-fire fashion.

Today we present the WR Draft Special, the second of three preseason draft strategy sessions.

Can one of you guys clarify how the list of players is sorted on the left hand side of the screen? Is it supposed to be how you have them ranked? If so, there's definitely some curious rankings (like Devery Henderson ahead of Reggie Brown).

I love a man who can laugh at himself. Genius.

I echo the dude who asked how the stuff on the left (camera left) is sorted or if it's random.

Bloom was bobbing his head like there was a dance beat going on.

You guys look like you're having fun. It translates.

Cec - was that an iPhone Joey 'called' you on?

Hey all!

Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it.

The lists on the left are intended to primarily convey the tiers into which we think players fall. We feel like folks will often want to draft a certain type of player, especially once they get through the franchise and featured guys. For example, you often want a mix of vets (lower ceiling but higher floor) and young guns (vice versa) to balance out your team, and instead of worrying about how to mix those lists, we'll show you our tiers of each category. That way, when you decide you are ready to take a WR in the middle rounds, you can first decide if you need a safety net or are ready to gamble, and that'll decide which list matters to you.

We obviously ordered the players loosely by the way we like them, but we focused more on tiers than the diff b/t #32 and #33 (for example) because to be that specific really depends on the rules of your league (not to mention whether it's redraft, dynasty or keeper). But I have the final say on the lists, so feel free to let me know where you disagree.

An Iphone it was! I must admit it was Faletti's though. I am having trouble kicking the addiction to my crackberry.

Great job. I heard a couple of things I hadn't thought about yet (my draft isn't until Sep 4.). Should we be dissapointed that there wasn't the controversy this time like the Addai comments last time? :goodposting:

No controversy?!?!?Wait til Theismann gets wind of this!

Rookies, ESPN probably could have "produced" 4 hours of commercials, fluff, flying computer graphics, "humor" and teasers to go along with that amount of actual football information.

Cec, Sig and Marc,

It gets better every week guys. Outstanding content, excellent delivery and just the right amount of humor. More outtakes please. :)

Nicely done fellas. But Malcom Floyd outproducing VJax? Put down the kool-aid!
anybody else taking this advice and drafting Malcolm Floyd in the last round of your draft?he is the starter and won't be double teamed -

I didn't see this in the iTunes store yet......should it be there?
Yeah, ON Networks contacted me to say that iTunes was acting funky today, but it should be up ASAP. And if you subscribe to the podcast via iTunes, it should download the show to your iTunes podcasts folder even if it isn't showing up elsewhere in the store yet.

Cecil reading the cue cards to say "You know the drill!!!" is priceless.
Believe it or not, no cue cards. We all develop the key points to discuss together, but when it comes to how they execute then, that's alllll Cecil and Sig. And my cattle prod. :goodposting:
