New Fantasy League Format: Money league (1 Viewer)

So I was thinking about a new way to do the money for a fantasy league. One that allows Owners to have a little say in their own frugality. I have always hated paying for trades or waiver moves. I don't know why, I just think it stinks when my #1 goes out for the year, and I have to pay to replace him. So here is my idea, and maybe some of you have used it or seen it.

The formats for the scoring and all that jazz are the same, and can be set by the commish, ie scoring system, roster req's, trading, waivers.

For the money though, I suggest this. All will be similar. This can be done with any denomination of coin, I am using $1 as an easy example.

Keeper or redraft leagues:

Each owner pays $130 at the beginning of the year. This is to pay for the MINIMUM roster req per week assuming 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1FLEX, 1PK, 1DEF.

for a total of 10 players/week X 13 weeks = $130. OK you get the point.

So basic formula is:

# in Starting lineup X # Regular season Weeks = Initial League Fee

Now for every player OVER TEN that is on your roster, you pay a specific fee. Since reserves are not quite as important as starters (some would argue) then you would pay $ .50 for each reserve player on your roster AT THE LINEUP DEADLINE. If you have 17 players on your roster at the lineup deadline, your weekly fee would be $3.50 Formula:

(#of players on roster at deadline - 10) X $.50 = Weekly fee

Now, you can set a roster limit, or not. Hey, if someone wants to spend $25 a week to keep every NFL RB on his roster, so be it. He MIGHT win the league, but since the prizes would be based on percentage, he would probably lose money in the long run.

For the playoffs, you have to have a roster limit, because the playoffs are free once you make them, kinda like a reward for making it. So, much like the football roster trim dates, you must trim (or expand) your roster to 16 before the first week of the playoffs.

Waiver rules are important here as well. I would suggest that waivers could still happen during the playoffs, but any player who was originally drafted at the start of the season cannot be picked up, and any player who spent more than half the season on an roster are not eligible to be picked up on waivers.

Dynasty League

Much the same as the redraft and keeper for the first year. The dynasty league may have need room for a few reserves. Still part of the roster size formula, just with a larger roster size. The rookie draft could be a pay/per player type draft as well.

Auction League

This is the one I would like to try. (I've never done an Auction.)

Every owner starts with $130 to draft his STARTING LINEUP + 3 reserves. Every player on the roster after that, costs the normal $.50 per week.

If someone doesn't set a lineup for a couple weeks and weekly fees are late, you can either charge interest or cut their roster to the 10 starters, or both.

Anyway, thought/problems/comments bout this, other than it would be a treasurers nightmare??
