2014 Draft: August 24, 2014 @ 6pm EST

- 2014 Payouts:
Grand Prize: $480.00
Second Prize: $130.00
Commissioner Reimbursement Fee: $89.95

- Payment System

This season we’re storing our league fees with LeagueSafe.com. It has the convenience of paying online, and our funds will spend the season sitting safely in an FDIC-insured bank account. At the end of the season, our league gets 100% of our fees returned, and we’ll distribute prizes to winners.
Check out LeagueSafe.com if you want to see exactly how entry fees will be collected.

- Future Division Realignment

Divisions will be realigned based on previous regular season standings. Odd numbered teams in the 2014 end of season standings will be aligned with the American League, and the even numbered teams in the 2014 end of season standings will be aligned with the National League in 2015.

- Keeper Rules

While this will not come into play until the 2015 season, it is very important to consider when drafting later this month. Owners will have the option of designating up to 5 players as a keeper. However you are not required to keep any players. Each player selected as a keeper has draft pick compensation attached to that player. For each year you choose to consecutively keep a player the draft pick compensation increases by one round. For example, if you designate a player you drafted in the 5th round of the 2014 Draft as a keeper. Heading into the 2015 Draft, you must forfeit a 4th round 2015 draft pick. If you choose to keep this same player heading into the 2016 Draft you will have to forfeit a 3rd round pick. This cycle continues until either an owner decides to no longer keep the player or until the player reaches 1st round pick status. If you choose to keep a player that was not drafted in 2014, the draft-pick compensation for 2015 is a 20th round draft pick. The draft pick compensation level would increase by one round for each consecutive year the player is selected as a keeper. Players acquired via trade are subject to the same level of draft pick compensation. If you trade for a player that was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2014 Draft you are required to forfeit a 2nd round draft pick in 2015 in order to keep this player. Drafted players released midseason whom another owner signs are required to follow the same draft pick compensation levels. If the new owner chooses to keep that player the new owner is responsible for the draft pick compensation. You will be unable to keep a player if you do not have the required draft pick compensation. Acquired draft picks can be used as compensation. Due to draft pick compensation levels it will be very tough if not impossible to keep all high-end players.

- Trade Policy

No anonymous objecting to trades is permitted. All owners who object a trade must give a brief explanation as to why he or she objected a particular trade. If a trade is objected anonymously that objection will be discarded. The beginning of the “Objection Explanation Period” will be announced by the commissioner following the successful vetoing of a trade.

If a trade is objected four times and brief explanations are given for all four objections during the “Objection Explanation Period”. When the trade comes to the commissioner for a final decision the trade will be killed. If there is a lack of explanations on the four objections during the “Objection Explanation Period” I will approve the trade. The explanations need not be long or detailed. Simple and to the point will work best.

- Playoff Format

Six teams will advance into the playoffs. The two teams who win their respective division will place seed one and two. The first and second seeds will receive a bye week. The third seed will compete against the sixth seed and the fourth seed will compete against the fifth seed. In the second round the first seed will compete against the lowest ranking seed to advance. The second seed will compete against the other seed. The final two teams remaining will compete for the league championship and the grand prize.

Teams that do not qualify for the playoffs will be unable to add or drop players during the three week playoff period. Once a team is eliminated from the playoffs, that team will be unable to add or drop players as well.

- Future Draft Pick Trade Eligibility

In order for an owner to be permitted to trade future draft picks, an owner must pay their entry fee for next season. Failure to pay your entry fee for next season will result in the trade not being processed.
