New OK GO video (1 Viewer)

LOVE their music... Love their videos. Continually pushing the envelope and have redefined what music videos are, in an era of their decline.

Also a FANTASTIC live band if you ever get the chance to see them live. :thumbup:

I'm a big fan of their music, as well. You can tell they're extremely artistic considering they don't just stop at the song. Their videos are some of the coolest things out there.

 
The videos are a really cool gimmick. But they only work because the music is so damn good.

I agree. I will say that with each video they've put out I've thought, "Welp. No way they ever top that one." And each time I've been pleasantly proved wrong.

 
Took me pausing the video and really studying it, but I finally figured out that the black thing is a picture of that guy's face. I was seriously lost at that part.

The part with the boxes, every time I watch it I think "I have no idea what's going on here." So mindbending. :confused:

 
Pretty cool, but I think there's actually too much going on. Lots of cool optical illusions, but some of them seemed forced and not that great.

But overall, super impressive that they can plan them all out and do it in a single take.

I think the single take thing is the big kicker. Sure, they're not ground breaking illusions. But the fact that they work it into their music and do it all in one take is what's pretty awesome about it.

 
Okay so whats with beard guy with full beard at 0:44 then half shaved off at 1:01... and it's shaved off at the end leading me to believe this was truly a 1-take affair and dude actually shaved half his face in 15 seconds?!

I believe it's a fake beard. For the mirror part in the beginning he's wearing half a beard and half no beard. Then later on has a full beard. I think they show you that so you can see that it's not real.

I saw full beard in the beginning then half beard at the mirror. Half beard at the end. I missed where it was full in the middle again. Mah bad!

No. You're right, I believe. What I meant was that I thought by him taking pieces on and off he was showing that it was not real. I thought it was just there for the mirror effect part. That's just my thought. :shrug:

 
Wow. I never saw that Rube Goldberg video. My kid is obsessed w/ RG machines. Can't wait to show him the video and website.

Same with my 11-yo. He flipped when I showed him the OK GO video, and now he likes seeing all of their stuff. This new one is awesome.
