New Order-Substance 1987 (1 Viewer)

This has some good stuff on it. I was never much of a fan of theirs outside of a handful of songs.

Pet Shop Boys have a lot of good songs. #straightmanopinion

You must also be a fan of the Pet Shop Boys, and Electronic.
To tell you the truth, not really. I am much more a fan of non-electronic music. But when I hear a song or an album I love, the genre doesn't matter to me. I did really like Joy Division, especially "Love Will Tear Us Apart." There is a beautiful folk version by June Tabor and Oysterband, sounds totally different from the original:

That is beautiful. I'm speechless.

For fans, I recommend the film Control, which is biography of Ian Curtis. WIki.

I mention it because the first track on Substance is "Ceremony," a song that was written by Curtis and even performed by Joy Division live a couple times just before Curtis killed himself. After seeing the film my ear for the song changed completely. It's utterly a Curtis song. There's even a recording out there (check youtube) of Curtis singing it.

"Perfect Kiss" is one of my favorite songs ever. I had a lot of nice, stoned memories to that song.

These guys are actually touring this summer and will be at a music fest here. I think I'll pass. Joy Division and NO were a huge part of my youth, and I'm sure it would only disappoint.

Saw them last summer at Lalapalooza....I think you would enjoy.
