Minshew showing today why he's a backup QB in this league. He's still probably better than a few starters but he would be in the bottom tier for sure.
Yep his schtick is getting real old when you can’t make the layups like today.
Saints have underperformed, but they’ve still got a fundamentally good roster. With Sean Payton and slightly better health, 10-11 wins wouldn’t have been crazy talk.

You certainly don’t trade your first round pick if you expect to suck.

What did we give them for that pick? It’s definitely a way higher pick than anticipated start of season but for awhile there it was top 5.

“The Eagles on Tuesday traded two of their three top-20 picks in this year’s draft – No. 16 and No. 19 – along with their 6th-round pick (No. 194 overall) to the Saints in exchange for the 18th pick overall in this year’s draft, a 2023 1st-round pick, a 2024 2nd-round pick and two additional picks in this year’s draft: No. 101 overall, which is a late 3rd-round pick, and No. 237 overall in the 7th round.”

It was for swapping first last year

Well, that still worked out well. Just disappointing it was in their hands to make it better. You can say it’s just a few spots but that a CD Lamb miss sometimes.

Best not to think of it in terms of WR choices. Howie finally learned he’s better at trading for them than drafting them.

Eagles Give:
No. 16
No. 19
6th rounder

Saints give up:
No. 18
2023 1st-round pick
2024 2nd-round pick
3rd Rounder
7th Rounder

Taking out same picks and the 6th/7th rounders, it Basically works out to:
Eagles Give up:
2023 Mid 1st

Saints give up:
2023 Mid 1st
2024 2nd
2022 3rd
We moved one of our middle 1sts back a year, and picked up a free 3rd rounder last year, and 2nd rounder in 2024

Question: Could Hurts have played today if it were a playoff game? IOW, is the team being careful with him today, or is his ability compromised by injury too much right now?
I believe he could have played last week and certainly this week.
If he was healthy enough to play this week he should’ve (and would’ve) played. Imo

It’s hard to win games in the NFL. Coaches don’t hold someone out because they think they can win without them. Imo

which is why I am so pissed. He was throwing with no problem in practice this week. The brass got cute and maybe gave Minshew more benefit of the doubt than he deserved. Malpractice.

I'm not taking anything away from NO. NO beat the Eagles today. I think alot of people don't realize that the talent level is a lot closer team wise in the NFL than records indicate.

I think PHI is a great team. But that's a great team when Maddox, Sweat, Hurts, Johnson and Chauncey-Gardner are playing (am I missing someone?). Without them, they are a good team who needed their coaching staff to be at the top of their game. Which I don't think happened today. I don't like Gannons soft D; nor his unwillingness to move away from it when it doesn't seem to be working. I don't like that Sirianni doesn't seem to change up his gameplan if it doesn't seem to be working. He doesn't even seem to want to change up the RPO's. I put this one on the coaching staff. You almost can't blame a backup QB for a loss. The coaches need to get the team on a razors edge to win these type of games.

If the Eagles are going to roll with Hurts in the future (which we all know they are) their backup QB needs to be a player who has to have at least a similar skill set to Hurts; enough that opposing D's maybe need to THINK about defending the back door on those RPO's.

At least we don't need to worry about this team getting TOO much rest for the playoffs. I think they SHOULD beat the Giants with or without Hurts and secure the bye. But at least if they lose in their first playoff game....rust won't be an excuse.
