New Orleans Saints fight to shield emails between team, church in Catholic sex abuse case (1 Viewer)

So, the emails are already in the hands of ALL the lawyers.  The only question is whether they should be made public.  As far as I can tell, the reason they want to make them public is to publicly besmirch the Saints.  Aside from that, the question of public vs private will not affect the case.  What's the point?

Why would a story about an NFL team PR department helping the church involving a priest accused of pedophilia be newsworthy and of interest to the public?

Does the public who pay to attend games and with time watching games have a vested interest and the public who willingly give to the church want to know why an NFL team was helping the church want access to the e-mails because of mean spirited besmirching?

Their is more than just the NFL team and Church on one side and the AP legal suit in play.

The 'special master' has her history of shady dealings where she took vast sums of money for little work is in charge of recommending whether or not the e-mails between the rich-power entities and who could easily pay off someone like Carolyn Gill-Jefferson who has taken money, a LOT of money.

Kids were sexually assaulted/raped.  The Saints and church are fighting tooth-and-nail to keep the public from seeing the 267 e-mails exchanged between them.  The AP had to file suit to make them public.

The New Orleans Saints did not have to use their PR team to help the church which has a lengthy history dating backs decades of hiding PEDOPHILIA.

Lets not ask the obvious questions like...  How could that happen?

How could they get away with it.

In this case we want to know...

Why would an NFL team try to help them with the PR team?

Dave tells us that we shouldn't ask or we are besmirching the Saints.

It's mostly NFL for now so we'll keep it here.
Hi Joe, can we revisit this? Where is the fantasy football or NFL aspect to this?

Obviously best to you and yours and Happy Easter. As always but really more than ever it's great having this resource for serious news and to pass the time.

Good thing that sort of villainy doesn't run in the family or people might question how sexual predation can exist for decades because people get bought off.

William Jennings Jefferson (born March 14, 1947) is an American former politician from Louisiana whose career ended after his corruption scandal and conviction
You might be going outside your realm of expertise here, fyi.

CGJ was married to Bennie Jefferson. The Progressive Democrats were a thing, a powerful thing, but the Jeffersons and the Bensons aren't the sort to run with each other, even in a cash-wise, corrupt way. I mean it's like the saying the Yorks and the Tudors would just naturally rule together because after all they were involved in kinging and such in middle ages England.

This is 100% about politics btw albeit NO politics.

Thanks. I still want to keep Shark Pool discussion as we've always had it. For discussion that's not NFL or game related, please use the other forums.
