New Perspective on Vince Young's Wonderlic (1 Viewer)

Moreover, Young's awkward mechanics during the exam drew criticism from onlookers, as he instinctually reverted to a sidearm-style delivery that often resulted in the incomplete filling-in of circles.
:lmao:

The scottsman will be here shortly.
I didn't know you cared...not that there's anything wrong with that.
Many teams, such as the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers, all but ignore arm strength, field vision, attitude, and leadership ability, electing to use a player's Wonderlic score as the sole basis for choosing a quarterback on Draft Day.
:excited: :excited:

"Texans owner Bob McNair was even more emphatic. "Vince is definitely the sexy choice here," said McNair, who is reluctant to draft another "Wonderlic bust" such as 14-point-scoring washout Dan Marino. "He's a Houston native, he can make all the throws, has a great ability to see down the field, and there's no denying he brought the NCAA championship back to the great state of Texas. But at this club, we have high intellectual standards. We believe that the fans in Houston deserve someone who can at least match his jersey number on a problem-solving test." :lmao:

Vince Young: 6
I thought Vince didn't score a 6?Can it be true then that this NFL scout has no knowledge of what he is talking about?

Jets | Favoring Cutler over Young

Mark Cannizzaro, of the New York Post, reports a source said the New York Jets have elevated Vanderbilt QB Jay Cutler above Texas QB Vince Young in draft order because of Young's poor score on the Wonderlic test. "A lot of people are scared of Vince Young right now," one NFL agent said. "Are you going to draft Vince Young with a Wonderlic score of 6 who's three years away (from playing)?"

Personally, I have seen VY in interviews and I am surprised that he scored as high as a 6.

Flling in the dots doesn't = actually scoring a 6 so I would say you are correct.

"We expected [Young] to score somewhere in the neighborhood of Vinny Testaverde, Ben Roethlisberger, or Brett Favre—instead, he tested more like a Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb, or Michael Vick,"

No cries of racism?

I know. I was alluding to the numerous and various racism arguments that have been posted here recently.
