New Starting SSs (1 Viewer)

Tick

There are other new SS starters, but many of them are veterans we know. Some of the guys are rookies or haven't played much. Here's my list of them.

Detroit: Alexander

Giants: Butler

Jacksonville: Sensabaugh (or is he FS with Knight at SS?)

Carolina: Harris

Green Bay: Bigby

San Diego: Hart (Weddle problems)

Kansas City: Pollard

Miami: Bell (not technically new, but I never saw him last year)

How many of these guys are stop-gap players? (Bigby, Butler, Harris, Hart?)

Which are in the best scheme, regardless of their long-term outlooks? (Pollard, Hart?)

Which don't have the talent to capitalize even if they're in a good situation? (dunno)

Alexander is playing FS in Detroit; Kenoy Kennedy is at SS. Sammy Knight is starting at SS for the Jags, with Sensabaugh at FS.

I'm seriously liking Butler this year. Yeah...seriously.
I seriously agree. Also, I thought I read where the Lions were waiting till after week 1 to sign Darius, that way they don't have to guarantee his salary.I'm also thinking Bigby could be more than a stop gap.

who replaces these injured safeties and what are their prospects for IDP production ?

Ko Simpson S BUF

Mike Brown S CHI

Jason Simmons S HOU

Yeremiah Bell S MIA

It may be Von Hutchins for a week or so in Houston, but Boulware long term. Other than maybe Boulware, none of these replacements are going to be great pickups unless you play in a very deep (> 60 starters) league.

Well, you can take YBell off the list, as he's headed to IR. I liked Butler the best of the list anyway, and he turned in a decent performance (6-2 tackles/assists)

Kennedy is supposedly playing SS - 1 assist.
