new to IDP's but Bench spots are limited (4) (1 Viewer)

Our commish is bent on an 11 man roster and only 4 bench spots. There are 3 IDP's and a team Def.

I played in a league like this before and I hated it. Had to spend too much time on the waiver wire. A bench that small defeats the purpose he is going for because it is too much activity and forces people to drop quality players.

Draft your IDP, def and K in the last five rounds...play the WW with these spots as they will incredible talent available. Only keep an IDP player if he is dominate like rated in top 3 at his position.

Bench

1- QB...if you have a QB with a great history of staying healthy...maybe none.

1- RB

1- WR

1- one offensive BPA

My best advice is try to talk some sense into your commish as you could sneak by with this if were no IDP, but with IDP a bench of 6 or 7 will keep a very active waiver wire, but allow people to keep the rewards of recognizing talent before others.

thanks to you both. Yes, I believe this small bench completely defeats the purpose of adding depth to the teams w/ IDPs. We've had people talk w/ the commish and he insists he has thought it out very well. I think he has overthought it and I fear it just won't be much fun with this type of setup.

Last year it was a much more typical setup and scoring system and it was a blast. This is only my second year of FF.

Our draft isn't until Aug 20 so maybe we can get changes before then but I'm not hopeful- he seems pretty certain of his system.
