"News" Section (1 Viewer)

Not a complaint here. Just expressing my preference to when the news section was more nuts and bolts.

It doesn't help me regulate my fantasy season to know what players were fined during the week.

Also, we now have tons of "news" updates on scoring events. E.g., Bralon Edwards scored a TD this week. Unless a scoring day for an individual player was truly remarkable or noteworthy, it's pretty much my job to keep up with that stuff anyway. I'm going to look at the stats and pay attention to the games . Having that in the news just makes the news much longer so I have to sift though more stuff to find the real news.

And do we really need to know who is signed to a practice squad? I have never found that info particulalry helpful. Does anyone? I mean, someone might actually find it useful and I'd be interested to know if I am in the minority.

Some feedback on this issue might be useful. If enough of us agree maybe it could be modified to be more useful.

As always, FootballGuys does great work and it's the best site around, so don't take this as bashing (I mean, I'm complaining you are doing too much. Take a break!)

Is it true that FBG just suscribe to a news service now and that's why we are deluged with meaningless "news"?

Yep. They took it out of our hands (bloggers) in May and turned it over to KFFL.

Bloom and I comment on the news, plus we scrape the web for more news stories throughout the day. We also find links to every story that comes from KFFL.

I'm ok with all the news but it is a lot to filter through. A nice addition would be to email subscribers when news is found for MyFBG players and the FBGs comment on them. That is usually what I am looking for. Of course there are other things I would like more than that.

Also as an fyi, the news shows up in a different place in iTunes than the rest of your podcast content. If I start to type "The Audible" into the search bar, I get two Footballguys options. The first is for the Recaps, GTD, etc. The other is for the News. Don't know if this is by design or not, but it seems a little confusing. Obviously easy to swap from one to the other to get the podcast, but though it was worth mentioning,
