NFC Championship Game - Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals (1 Viewer)

Officials supervisor just admitted to Fox crew that they f'd up the kick off call..
He admitted that the ball did not hit out of bounds after touching a player (which was the ruling on the field). He said nothing about whether or not it hit the player while he was out of bounds (which was not what was ruled on the field, otherwise the ball would've been placed on the 40, not the 25).Really the refs screwed up two parts of their ruling on the field. They said the ball hit the Philly player on the way down (clearly it did not, it hit him after the bounce) and they said that the ball landed out of bounds (again, clearly it didn't).A monkey could tell you the actual ruling on the field was way wrong. The thing being argued is which of the two possible outcomes after that was correct.

Refs messed up the call...but it seemed pretty clear it hit the player while HE was out of bounds. It should have been Philly ball at the 40.
if a ball touches a player while the player is out of bounds, the ball is dead at that spot. you dont have to have control of it. I saw a KR screw up inside the 2 once by touching the ball while his foot was on the line. Ball was dead at the 2.

hey, looks like mcnabb is being a true leader...he's taught the whole team how to choke ;)
Come on BK. McNabb and the O have been less then stellar, but the Defense is choking away the game. We've only had four possessions!
agreed. but this should be a close, high scoring, game right now. If McNabb makes 2 more accurate throws, this is a 1 score game
I agree with that, but it's hard to put this entirely on DMac. The defense has been terrible to this point. That said, I don't think this game is over by any means. This Philly Offense can certainly put up 20 points on this Cardinal Defense in a half if the defense can play even remotely close to it's potential.
DMac? Big Mac? I'm hungry.

Who are these hair farmers?

Ahh, Collective Soul. My least favorite band ever.

It hit the player's elbow clearly. Sorry but you're wrong. Eagles ball.
Judging from the fact that more than half the folks here are saying it didn't, and the burden of proof on review would be to prove CONCLUSIVELY that it did (since the ruling on the field said nothing about it hitting a player out of bounds) you are incorrect.
The ruling on the field doesn't have to say the ball hit a player, just that the ball was ruled out of bounds. The ball is ruled out of bounds when it touches the ground out of bounds or when it touches a player who is out of bounds. Two senerios same ruling - ball is out of bounds.
True...but one critical differance on a kickoff is that if the player is out of bounds when he first touches it, it's a penalty for illegal kickoff.

The perfect illustration was when Baskett released over the middle and was wide open. If McNabb hits him remotely in stride he would have gone for at least 30 more yards. Instead he throws it at his feet and he catches it for a 9 yard gain. McNabb has been throwing at WR's feet his whole career.

I can't believe we bench R brown for baskett , avant , lewis . pathetic.
please, Brown needs to go find Freddie and hang out for the rest of his career. Doesnt matter who is at WR if the throw is 3 yds behind them
Hows that short memory working for you ??? brown was our best wr up to last year before the injuries.
Uh, no he wasn't. He was WR1 by default. On a team that passes 70% of the time. Brown has always been a below average WR, and never been "good".

:lmao: What? :lmao: Mrs Brown, is that you?
no, seriously, 61 catches and 4TDs in '07 as a #1 WR is what you want?

No but it upsets me to see bums like avant baskett lewis on the field.

you're insane, Avant does nothing but make huge catches. baskett can get a big play, and lewis, well yeah that midget should be delivering meat with icky Woods

"They only went on the blitz 35% of the time in the first half."

Wha??? In the game I saw, they were pretty much blitzing on every play. And getting burnt.

That plan to increase the number of blitzes doesn't seem prudent...

Great catch by Avant. Eagles doing good things on this drive. 2nd and 20 and they find a way. Brilliant play by McNabb erased, and they overcome.

You have absolutely no concept of what is going on here. The part that is being argued, whether or not it hit the Philly player while he was standing out of bounds AFTER THE BOUNCE, was never ruled on on the field. The officials said that the play was already over by the time that had happened (thinking the ball hit out of bounds on its way down), so they never made a ruling on that part. And that's the really tricky part, there was never any ruling made about whether or not the ball hit the Philly player's elbow, because the refs had already assumed the play dead by that point, so they would've had to make a ruling without conclusive evidence because there was no initial call made on the field in regards to that question. The conclusive part was that the ball did not initially hit out of bounds, what happened after that would have had to have been figured out from scratch with no prior ruling about it.

McNabb overthrows another open WR. He is awful today.

And then he turns the ball over again with a fumble.

NFLN just showed some tailgaters in ARI and it was a sea of green. Sapp even commented "Wow, philly fans travel like college fans" Take over the UFO Dome :football:
That's interesting, all I all heard on the radio in Phoenix this week was how Philly fans were already booking flights to Tampa and not to Arizona. I hope the Philly players are looking forward to next week too..........
uh yeah, thats what you do when you're in the Champ game. Book refundable airfare and hotels. If you wait til after the game, you'll never get there. Its like these Cards fans have never been in this position...oh yeah, never mindAnyway, what the #### does my post have to do about booking flights to Tampa. I"M SAYING THE EAGLES FANS WILL TAKE OVER YOUR UGLY, ALIEN STADIUM
I doubt that. Nobody cares about the Eagles outside the Philly area.
You dont get out of Shttsburgh much do you?
:lmao: Yes I can see the sea of green at Phoenix Stadium :lmao: 24-6 and another turnover by McChoke. I'm loving this.

Now that's an effective blitz. No one saw Wilson coming.

And I like the effort that Tra Thomas made to pick up the ball. haha
