Smells like chicken
So washington keeps out giving wins to 0 fer teams

Philly gets embarassed at Oakland

Dallas is always overrated

The bottom feeders of the AFC West just got 2 wins vs that divison

Ill give the Giants a pass because it was NO on the road.

Seriously overrated division as a whole

As over-rated as the Chargers are on a yearly basis?

Any team that loses to Oakland cannot be that good and if the Eagles are the best in the East, the East is just not that good. The Giants are a good team but we saw today that they are not as good as alot of people thought. I think the Vikings and the Saints are the two teams to beat in the NFC.

Well, I am glad you did not say McNabb was overrated, otherwise your dream of owning an NFL team would be over.

They are the most overrated division in the NFL. I'm going to make a lot of money on the eagles this year, bet a lot of philly fans they wouldn't win 10 games even with there easy schedule and overrated division and i'm well on the way to getting that money

Let's rank the 6 divisions by the combined point differential of each of their 4 clubs.

NFC East +103

AFC East +52

NFC North +40

NFC South +26

AFC North -12

AFC West -68

AFC South -69

NFC West -72

The Eagles may or may not win 10 games, but that in itself doesn't tell us anything about whether or not the NFC East is the best in football.

The NFC East and NFC North are tied with the most total victories at this point. They each have won 13 games as a division.

I'm not saying that, i just threw that out there. The Giants are obviously the best team in that division, i didn't know that was even up for debate. The facts are the facts, the NFC East are playing a bunch of #### teams right now and will be exposed as the season goes on. And they are the most overrated division because no other division gets any hype like the NFC East does. The Giants have played OAK, KC, TB, WSH, DAL, and NO. They were completely dismantled by the only good team they have faced. Dallas is a borderline contender. The Eagles have played KC, CAR, OAK, TB, and NO. Once again, they were completely smashed by NO and they just lost to OAK.I don't think it is worth going through how many bad teams all these teams in this division have played. They haven't played anyone and are in the process of being exposed.

This is a stupid statistic IMO. The AFC East is +52 and the Patriots just won 59-0 so i'm going to take that worth a grain of salt.

We'll see how things shake out in the end but washington is awful and i don't think zorn even knows who is gonna be the quarterback, hell he's not even sure if he's gonna be the coach. I'm really disappointed in the NFL for not allowing the 2008 lions to play the current skins. I mean the way they're handing out wins to the winless teams, I'm sure the lions could've found a way not to lose that one (well maybe not but that would've been an epic battle)....Dallas is in shambles with Tony "i have turrets" Romo leading the way and it isn't even close to December. I mean, whenever the team needs him to stay calm and not do something crazy he instantly has a violent attack and starts throwing picks left and right. WARNING...Things might get ugly...GET YOUR POPCORN READY!!! You got Wade Phillips, who looks as clueless as i would trying to lead an NFL team and Jason Garrett who has yet to realize that Jason Witten is their best weapon on offense...The Eagles have lost three starting lineman so far (not sure how bad the Jason Peter's injury is) lost their best linebacker, Stuart Bradley, in the preseason (not to mention Jim Johnson or Brian Dawkins) and still have not figured out how to run a 2minute drill since they tried to do it in the superbowl. I mean did anyone see that attempt by McNabb to do the unthinkable and lead his team to victory in the last seconds of the game vs a very TOUGH raiders team? (the bengals seem to do it every other week) It was laughable to me bc I live just outside philly and have the opportunity to watch them attempt the 2minute drill every year and NOTHING has changed. I mean seriously wtf is going on? And then you got the Giants...I actually think the Giants are a good team but the injury bug is starting to hit them on the defensive side of the football. Brandon Jacobs looks like a ballet dancer when he gets the ball instead of hitting the hole and knocking ppl out like he used to. They got mauled by the saints today, which is not terrible considering the saints are probably the best team right now in the league.

Sorry for the rant but i thought it would be funny to rip every team in that division and help everyone realize that you don't need fancy stats to see that the NFC East is not all it's cracked up to be. It's way to early to crown what division is the best and it doesn't really matter IMO. Every team has holes and if you look hard you could probably bash every team in the league. This wasn't meant to offend the fans that follows those teams BTW.

You are DEAD ON with regards to the Eagles being incapable of running a 2-minute offense. And that falls squarely on the shoulders of Donovan McNabb. Granted, the play of Philly's rag tag o-line was embarrassing yesterday and McNabb had no time to do anything, but he has NEVER been able to run a 2-minute drill his entire career, even when his o-line was playing great. It's mesmerizing.

Yea...I'm surprised that no one really talks about the eagles inability to excute in the 2minute offense. It seems like they have had an inability to pull it off the entire Reid era. It really is puzzling to me and I can't really figure out the answer but your right, it has to fall on Mcnabb. Albeit his line being atrocious today but he has shown an inability to do it his entire career. I mean him attempting to call a timeout today, when they had none left, just sealed the deal for me on how clueless he really is on the "smaller" things that are essential to the position. I mean he didn't even know that a game could end in a tie. Don't get me wrong, I believe Donvan is one of the better qb's in the game, but I see now why so many people in philly never really embraced him. I've actually supported him more than alot of my friends who are eagles fans but there is definitely a reason to be concerned with this guy trying to win you a championship. You guys have been so close so many times so it's hard to put the blame on him. If you guys are gonna win a championship, it's gonna have to be from Mcnabb carrying that team on his back. With all the negative stuff i just posted, you guys are in a good situation compared to most of the other teams in the nfl that are stuck in the never ending cycle of trying to find the franchise qb. I'm definitely nitpicking here but i guess I just feel for the eagles and their inability to perform up to their potential and expectations. I can only hope Henne will have as much success as Mcnabb.

Well I would have to agree that the NFC East has been a bit of a disappointment thus far. I'd say at least 3 teams are not as good as many would have thought coming in (Dal, Philly and Wash) and NYG could arguable be on that list as well.

The Chargers are in the NFC East?Funny how homers can't contribute on the topic....but get defensive and come right back on the OP....when that isn't the issue.

Horrible week for the NFC East.

Giants had a road game against an offensive buzzsaw. Despite the loss, they are legit. Still a serious threat to win the NFC.

The Eagles seem to have a game or two every year where they seem horrible. They'll right the ship. Reid's Eagles are one of the league's most consistant teams. They are still right below the Saints, Giants, and Vikings as the best in teh NFC.

The Cowboys were very overrated coming into teh season, but I don't think that's the case anymore. Most NFL fans know they are a middle of teh road team now.

The Redskins are just horrible.

I was waiting for you to post the combined winning percentage of the opponents faced by each division... or would that not serve your purpose here? :D

Over-rated by who? They are pretty much doing exactly as I expected. The Giants were better than expected until this past week. Washington is definately showing everything I expected out of them, which of course is nothing. Dallas was expected to be worse with the loss of TO and the promotion of over-rated Roy Williams to the #1 spot. The Eagles go the way McNabb goes.

They're all pretty weak this year. Can't wait to see the Saints drop 40+ on the rest of them.
I don't think the Giants are overrated at all..the rest of the NFC is, but not NYG...Giants were beaten by a team coming off a bye, with a head coach who used to be a part of the Giants organization with perhaps an axe to grind, a team that was playing at home, indoors, in a very loud stadium, with a former player ( Shockey) with yet another axe to grind...

not to take anything away from the Saints, they kicked the Giants tails all day long..but I don't think that suddenly makes NYG a lousy, overrated NFL team..I mean, they're NOT the Eagles, who just got 'debacled' by Oakland... :D :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

now THAT's an overrated team....

:lmao: Who (other than kaa) is currently overrating them? Who is touting them as one of the best divisions in the NFL?The NFC East has one very good team, two mediocre teams and one horrible team. Where are you seeing the debate that the division is good from top to bottom?

How many YEARS has the OP been storing this one up? Every division has to have a down year at some point, regardless Philly and NYG have a very good chance of beating whomever they line up against. Philly just had a bad day yesterday, it's not the first time we've seen a major favorite come out flat.

I didnt see the eagles game but I wonder how they would have performed this year had they not lost Stewart Bradley and Jim Johnson.

But your 'observation' is based on past years. I haven't heard one single person say that the NFC East is the league's toughest division this year. Most "experts" have said that Philly and the Giants will contend for the NFC (which they will) and that Dallas will slip (which they have) and Washington will finish last (which they will).

Overrated by who's definition? I thought most people thought the NFC East wasn't as good as it was in past years, so it's more like in line with most pundits expectations / predictions rather than overrated.

Which division are experts saying is the toughest?

I'm sure it varies from expert to expert. I don't think there's one division that looks to be all that dominant this year. The NFC North has three playoff contenders. That's a pretty good one. Cincinnati came back down to earth yesterday, but if they prove to be the real deal, that would be three playoff contenders in the AFC North. The NFC West is pathetic.Maybe I should start a 'rank the divisions' thread/poll.
