NFC Wild Card: Cowboys at Panthers (1 Viewer)

Now you are making excuses for Carter failing to make plays, when we were fairly sure that was exactly what he'd have to do to keep the team in the game.
No...I'm putting the blame where it belongs, which is not solely on Carter's shoulders! I'm blaming the running back that fumbles the ball inside the 20 yard line, the secondary that either gives up the big play or gets called for a penalty, and I'm blaming the punter for not doing his job. For some reason, I'm comfortable in saying they all deserve the blame and they all should be making plays, but Carter's name is the ONLY one that ever comes up!

Good call. I forgot about that one. I actually liked Muhsin as a sleeper pick going into the season and took him real late in my draft, thinking he could emerge as a viable No. 4 WR. He got off to a poor start and I traded him early in the season and never missed him -- even after he showed signs of life late in the year. But I think he looks real good tonight (so does Smith obviously). I just wonder if this is a sign he'll be worth something next year or if this is just one of those games a WR has every now and then.
I think he's having a "playoff run" and will be one of those "contributing members" to a football team, but not much value fantasy-wise next year. Esp. with Dyson returning. Now, you probably should have drafted him for your FF playoff team. . .

Fine - and like I said, I'm not blaiming him for the loss. But he takes a lion's share of the blame for the offensive futility. While others have ALSO been failing, he is responsible for succeeding despite their failures. That's a drawback to the QB position- it's ON YOU.

I'm glad you brought up Steve McNair. Maybe if Carter put up those kind of numbers (14/23, 159 yds, 1 td, 3 int), he could lead the team to victory? :rotflmao:
Making plays isn't about accumulating stats. McNair definitely had a bad game. But, with less than 3:00 left in the game, McNair made about 4 pass completions under heavy pressure to put the Titans in a position to win the game.Carter hasn't done much of anything to put the Cowboys in a position to win.

I passed on the fantasy playoffs this year. :) I still wonder about Muhsin's value for next year, even with Dyson coming back. Don't forget Smith is a free agent and he was p****d about some comments made by the team about him early in the year. I wonder if the fences have been mended or if he's looking to leave no matter what.

Anothony Wright wasn't given any running game earlier today. The Ravens had just 35 yards rushing from their running backs. Yet, when he was needed most, Wright made the plays to put the team in a position to win. He made the game-tying TD pass and gave the defense a chance to send the game to OT.
But did he lead the team to victory? Forget about the coaches, the kicking game, the defense, the running game.....it's all on the quarterback.

He'll be back b/c he has significantly less value ot other teams as to THIS team where the chemistry lies. On another team, he's likely an undersized, speedy smurf receiver.

You know that and I know that, but do Steve Smith and his agent know that? ;)

Yeah....and the 165 yards and the touchdown (and no fumbles) from the running game and the play of his defense put him in that position. It's really not that hard of a concept to grasp that if Carter got that kind of help from the rest of his team, he might be in the same position as McNair at the end of the game.There....he's the only one that's seen the endzone, which is more than I can say for the running backs! Of course, he still hasn't made enough plays to win the game for his team.

Yeah....Dillon would be nice and maybe they can sign Warner. That guy never throws any interceptions!

Wow, zero penalties for Carolina. :thumbup:Edit: AND no turnovers. Double-wow. First playoff team since Super Bowl X.
