Question is why wait until now to say something? Why because they got their big market teams in so now they can play fair. Its one week too late for the Saints and Panthers isn't it.

The NFL is starting to look more and more like the NBA . Before you bash, ask yourself this, if there wasn't a problem why would the NFL have to say anything at all to the Refs? especially through the media.

Fair? Seems like they just dont want it to get out of control.
Its been out of control and its nothing special to these two teams. Plenty of Dirty play going on last week. I blame the Refs for not doing their job not the teams for taking advantage of it.

Did you even read the story? It says right in it that it is the message the refs have been hearing all year long. Its not new this week.

I just apparently misinterpreted the title of the thread, thinking that possibly the refs were being warned not to be biased towards one team. I didnt see that in the article.

I read the story, And BS the refs may have been told to follow it but they didn't did they ? otherwise why were they sent a tape showing exactly what calls wouldn't be tolerated? The Refs blew calls in the other game as well. There were at least 3 PI missed calls on Thomas III were he hit/tackled Jimmy Graham before the ball got there. Its obvious they have needed to be taken aside for a little instruction for a while. Once again I am not blaming the Seahawks for taking advantage of the lazy ### refs, They are using what leverage/leadway they can to gain a competitive advantage based off of how the refs are calling or not calling the game. Why wait until now to say something? It has been a problem for a long time. I Knew the NFL would pull this ####. Now that they have the 4 teams they wanted they want a fair called game. BS They don't want Peyton Manning/Tom Brady looking like Drew Brees did against the Seahawks during the Superbowl. Watch, they are going to be throwing all kinds of PI flags on the Seahawks/49ers. I bet you right now they will.

Perhaps because that game was very nearly out of control. I know you want to turn this into another NFL hates the Saints issue, but all that is is after the whistle shenanigans. The Hawks Rams and a Balt Cleveland game almost were out if control because the refs let too much go early on. With these two teams that do not like each other, letting the refs know is about as un-mysterious as humanly possible. Why do it in the public? So the players and coaches know and the fans to a much lesser degree as well.

:lmao: you don't want to turn it into a woe are the Saints thread, but woe are the Saints is your central message. This article is about after the play stuff. It mentioned some of those missed calls that caused the frustration. It's not "ok, the Saints are out, now we can finally get to things".

As stated, I don't blame the defenses,I blame the refs and no this is not a Saints thread, the lead story doesn't even mention the Saints game it mentions the 49ers/Panthers game and how the NFL is calling out the refs now that the games matter. Thats my interpretation of it anyhow.

I also think the NFL wants Manning to win the Superbowl this year and then retire on top like Elway. That too is my opinion.

You mentioned the Saints and all the calls that didn't go your way, not anyone else. Your interpretation is your blatant narrative of the conspiracy against the Saints. They mention the SF/Car game because, as the article states, it was the chippiest of the year and they want to keep that from happening again.

In spite of the calls I mentioned Sweeny if it makes you feel any better I don't think the Saints would have won that game. It was not the Saints year. They actually went further than I expected them to with the amount of injuries they had suffered. I just think it stinks that now all of a sudden the NFL feels it needs to get involved in the officials business by sending them game tapes and spelling things out for them so they will call a tighter game. Why the sense of urgency? why now?

Here's a hint, they do that all year long. You just want everything to be an anti-Saint conspiracy so you see that article and filter it as such. There's no reason whatsoever to believe that this is the only time all year the NFL has done this. A couple games got close to out of control and they're publicly taking steps to try and avoid it, nothing more.
