NFL Cuts: Waiting on Lewis News (1 Viewer)

Department 400

Footballguy
Well, I keep checking the appropriate sources but I've seen nothing confirming the rumors Lewis may be cut in favor of the rookie, Davis. Sources say it may be unlikely because the Browns already paid Lewis either 2.5 or 3.5M this spring; however, he still counts against their cap and will continue to eek money from the franchise thus fueling the rumors. Any news?

eek money!!

Oh look, the forum police. I love those guys who sit around looking for mild violations of some unwritten rule, jump in with some pithy, self-righteous comment. That's just great. Wait, you "Follows Closely" the Browns? Perhaps you could offer some insight instead of playing ref?

Jerome Harrison is a much better RB then Davis , the only reason Davis is ahead is Harrison was hurt and did nt play much in pre season.

Eek! The Forum Police!

I think I'll take a leek.

The police have hit a peek.

Someone's beek is out of joint.

I don't want to spoil the mysteek.

So I will leave in a fit of peek.

Harrison had a 7.2 average in the regular season last year so Davis owners don't start any new threads hoping your long shot comes in.Even if Lewis is cut Harrison needs to be beaten out. Youu are talking about a rokie RB starting and having the same success in the regular season he had against 2nd and 3rd team defenses.Wait a while.

Lewis isnt getting cut. They paid him a 3.5M bonnus before the season. All this "Lewis" getting cut is BS media speculation gone overboard.

regarding forum police...with NFL cuts as a thread...why would you think we need a NFL cuts, waiting on Lewis news was needed? seriously?

7.2 average doesn't mean much when a guy is running draws on 3rd and very long. I'm not saying Davis is better than Harrison or the other way around...Just pointing out that having a 7.2 per carry avg doesn't mean much when you only get 2 carries a game...

He probably won't get cut but he will definately suck. Davis has a great shot at taking over by the end of the year to show the coaches that he can handle the load.

I own Davis in a couple leagues, but I'm baffled by all the interest. Even if Lewis is cut there is still Harrison and there's no guarantee that any RB for the Browns is going to have real fantasy value. The guys is a late round flier, sit back and relax and see what happens. Let me ask you, if Lewis is cut today are going to start Davis week 1? I hope not. So what's the big deal?

I will admit I don't know a lot about Harrison, but football guys have davis as the second running back on the depth chart for the cleveland browns on the main page. So, unless there information is wrong it would seem davis would benefit more.

2007 on 1st down: 15-105 (7.0 ypc)2008 on 1st down: 14-146 (9.1 ypc)

In his career, he has 3 carries (5 yards) on 3rd down. Only 2 of those were on 3rd and long, and those two carries went for 1 and -1.

Sorry to ruin your theory with facts, but you are dead wrong.

Ah, so much for hoping. Those who grabbed Davis should do well as an upside pick while Lewis will inevitably lose or wheel or two throughout the season. Wuz hoping to snatch Davis as that sure starter, post-draft but now it's a coin flip.

/RAWR! :(

Good gawd, get a grip!Lewis is the starter. Davis looked okay during preseason against 3rd stringers. Unless you're in a dynasty league, you're wasting a roster spot.

The problem is that Mangini won't tell the media anything, so they speculate. Please notice that every media source said it was speculation.
