***NFL Draft- OFFICIAL THREAD - Kansas City - April 27-29*** (2 Viewers)

The NFL may have screwed up big time here.

They released information yesterday that they are only allowing 60,000 people into the draft area. That site can hold 100K easy, and 100,000 have registered with the NFL One Pass draft app. You have to have this to get into the secured area.

This could get ugly, folks. I'm not kidding. There will be at least 60,000 Kansas City folks wanting to get in there, not to mention all the people that traveled here.

Daniel Jeremiah has Texans coming up from 12 to 3, taking Stroud and Anderson.
I did @Hot Sauce Guy draft contest and feel like DJ stole my thunder because I had Houston doing the same trade up.

Figuring out if Arizona will find a buyer for pick 3 has been one the most problematic exercises for me with respect to trying to fill out a mock.

Way I see it, and maybe Monti Ossenfort will pull off both trades before the weekend, but pressure has to be building on him if he's not got a deal up his sleeve. So far he's been unable to trade Hopkins or move back and I don't see how he can fail to do both. Trying to find someone wanting to pay for pick 3 has not been easy. When a new GM feels pressure I kind of think he might like to deal with people he knows and he's spent most of his career with the Titans and Patriots. So the main candidates I looked at moving up were Raiders(due to McDaniels/Zeigler working history with him), the Titans due to obvious history with them and the Texans due to working so many years with Caserio. I went with Houston because they are sitting on a ton of draft capital over the next two drafts and this would enable them to pick their edge and QB.

I'm sure I'll be wrong but this was the theory I used.

Player team matchups I would love to see:

Bijan to CHI

Quentin Johnson to TEN (pair with Treylon)

Van Ness to PHI

ARich to ATL

Addison to LAC

My predictions for the RBs in terms of which rounds:

Round 1
Bijan

Round 2
Gibbs
Charbonnet

Round 3
Bigsby
Spears
Miller
Abanikanda

Round 4
Roschon
Evans
Achane

Round 5-7
Hull
Grey
Macintosh
Vaughn
Hull
Brown
Tucker- many teams scared off by the heart condition but he'll go late.

Might have missed a couple of 'em toward the end but something like that.

WRs I don't know as many of the later guys very well. Haven't done as much of a deep dive on these guys.

Round 1
JSN
Flowers
Addison
Johnston

Round 2
Tillman
Hyatt
Downs
Reed

Round 3
Rice
Boutte
Mingo
Scott

Round 4
Mims
Hutchinson
Palmer? Don't know him at all.

Round 5-7
Nacua
AT Perry
Dell
Wilson
Jarrett
Sure I've missed a few.

Feel like the Bengals tonight should have someone go up there and start to announce the pick only to have someone else run up and try to announce the pick. Those two start arguing and then fighting and some security guards come on to pretend to break it up.
Send Jerry out in style.

Is this the thread for picks, too? :excited:

yeah let's do that

@ChiefD - just a suggestion, should we put a ***no spoilers*** warning in the thread title?

podium announcements always lag what hits social media, kind of ruins the drama a bit if fo;ks jump the gun in the draft thread.

A definite yes on that. We had issues years ago of people tipping picks from Twitter and such so the spoiler warning has helped with that these past few years

FOX's Jay Glazer confirms the Panthers are expected to select Alabama QB Bryce Young at No. 1 overall Thursday evening.

This has been conventional wisdom for weeks, but you always see a few contrarian takes/leaks near draft time. Glazer, whose word is as good as it gets in scoop merchant circles, says it is happening. He also reports the Bears were originally only attempting to trade down to No. 2 with the Texans (with the eventual intention of then moving again to No. 9), and that Houston was set to select Young at No. 1 overall. Instead, the move fell apart, Carolina now has the top selection, and the Texans haven't made their No. 2 intentions known. If/when Young officially goes No. 1, he will somehow become the first top selection in the history of Alabama football.

So, it’s just me representing Football Guys this year at the draft?

I didn’t even get a free t-shirt.
so bad wanted to be there with you brother.....hold down the fort for us....have an extra one on me....cheers!

What's the better draft coverage, NFL network or espn? I haven't actually listened to the TV for several years now
I'll watch a livestream from The Athletic, YouTube
Pulling up the stream and will check it out. Rich Eisen is pretty comfy though.
The PFF one as well. They don't have all the commercials, and the fluff, and they discuss the non-QBs. They don't have highlights ready to go, but ESPN and NFLN really drop the ball on this, so I go with the nerdy guys.

Dane Brugler is on the Athletic show, looking forward to it.

This was so fun when it came to Nashville. Broadway was packed and a-hoppin'. Hope everyone there is having a great time.
