NFL Draft Talk Live Audible Tonight 10 PM Eastern (1 Viewer)

Hello Mr Bloom and guests:

I have two questions: First - My theory on drafting rookies for non-IDP dynasty league is to make the 1st round pick all about decreasing risk - taking the 'high floor' prospects, and in subsequent rounds doing the real swinging for the fences, ie looking for the high upside (perhaps pro-bowl potential) guys who might be available - in my case picks 19 through 30.

Drafting at #6, and looking only at RB and WR, I've identified the top high-floor picks as Crabtree, Moreno, Nicks, and Robiskie. Assume Crabs, Moreno and Nicks will be gone by #6, and Robiskie will likely be available. Question: For a PPR league, in your minds, are there any other picks that have the same or less risk than Robiskie but with potentially higher upside.

Second: Combing the 'second day' players for upside, I especially like WRs Mike Thomas, Johnny Knox, and Jarrett Dillard, and RBs Andre Brown, Kory Sheets, and the ultimate boom or bust, Bernard Scott. Would you scratch any of these guys off my 'upside list' and, more important, do you have any 'sneaky' adds to this list.

Thanks - I'll be listening, because as always - You Guys Rock.

What do the Saints need to do to become a more consistent team? I am afraid that if they keep losing the fans will drift away and the ownership will start floating the idea of moving the team to another city. Can they get back to the playoffs this year?

Why would Hakeem Nicks be a bad pick for the Patriots at 23? I know this is not a glaring need with Moss and Welker on the roster but this guy could be very productive for a long time. With the depth at CB and LB this year I wouldn't be disappointed with that pick. Also, Bloom, as I mentioned in your Mock draft post I think the Pats really need to draft a productive 3-4 end in this draft. What prospects would be a good value at 23?

This is all just food for thought. Hope I'm not upsetting your stomachs! Thankfully, I'll never get out of this Maze!

We didnt get to talk to DiIvory, but Matt Bitonti gave us some great wisdom on the O-Linemen - thanks everyone for the questions and thanks for listening!
