NFL Free Agency 2025? (2 Viewers)

The Bengals are bringing back RB Samaje Perine on a two-year deal worth up to $3.8 million, per @MikeGarafolo

In special teams news, Texans signed Braxton Berrios.

If anyone is still holding out hope for Dameon Pierce, could mean he’s moving back to full time RB behind Mixon. Texans had him on kickoff returns this past year.

Sounds like a Chase Brown backup to me.

1st bullet dodged. Now we wait for the draft.
If you told me this kept them out of the RB market for the draft I'd bumping Chase Browns value way up.

That's unlikely but this IMO helps odds they don't address it till super late.

I did not think he ever left that role, just handled kickoff duties as well.

Last third of the season there were multiple games he didn’t see a single snap on offense and Obungawale(sp?) did. There was never any news on a change in role or demotion from the team at all and he did get back in the last few games of the season. But either way, there was a stretch where he definitely was not involved at all other than as a returner.

I may be the only one excited to report Josh Palmer to the Bills.
That’s not a bad signing. Allen still doesn’t have an alpha WR, but he clearly doesn’t need one and gives another option. Even more reason now to avoid Kincaid.
Yeah. I think Palmer is a bit underrated. He should be a serviceable FF WR3-4 type in BUF. Or a sell-high if someone in your league is more bullish than that.

I believe Dare is and will continue to be the third down RB, Pierce the backup. Assuming both still on the team.

Yeah, I wouldn’t say that.

Definitely still on RB watch during the draft, but it does tell me they’re a little more confident in Chase.

If anything Perine is closer in style to Chase than what I think they need at RB. IMO they’ll take a sluggish chain moving bruiser in the 4th or 5th now with Perine serving as a breather back.

Trade in the works, Laremy Tunsil to the Commanders according to Rap

A 2nd and 4th next year plus a 3rd this year to Texans, while Commanders get a 4th and Tunsil

Steep price

Texans line was already bad as is, and now another hole to fill

Giants keeping Darius Slayton for 3/36. This is honestly worse than the Daniel Jones deal to me, especially when this is pretty close to the deal Barkley wanted last offseason. Slayton is a #3 WR at the best of times.

Is it just me, or has the right move been to sit out FA other than a few exceptions? Lots of pretty good size contracts going to guys who aren't much better than a random 3rd/4th round rookie.

Javonte Williams 1 year deal with the Cowboys.

I roster him on 3 of 4 dynasty teams (ugh) but probably too early to get people’s thoughts before we see what the Cowboys do in the draft, eh? Let’s say I’m not super enthused right now at least.

Really feeling that? I roster McLaughlin on 2 of the 3 teams where I have Javonte.
Also roster Estime on 3 teams. Ugh. Way too many Broncos RBs but was hoping to land ONE starter in the offeseason. Who knows…

Any grumblings in BroncoLand that they’d spend noteworthy (vague term I know) draft capital on another RB?

Absolutely. The Broncos have already (or close to) signed FA's at ILB (Greenlaw), S (Hufanga), and TE (Engram) so that fills three glaring holes.

With the depth of this year's RB class, I would be shocked if they didn't grab one. Maybe even as notable as Hampton if he falls to 20.

Dre Greenlaw to the Broncos per Schefty and Rappaport. 3 yrs / $35mm

Denver now will now have three former 49ers(Greenlaw, Hufanga and DJ Jones) starting at each of the three defensive levels

Chargers pursuing Najee as per Rappaport
Just posted about this in his thread. Great outcome for him IMO.
Really? I'm thinking really mid. Steelers run a lot and he gets 1k/7 almost every year. That's ok but not what you'd want. He's also 27 and should be in his prime. Do you really expect that?
Yes.

I think he'll be running behind the best QB, best run blocking OL, best scheme fit for him(gap with a FB) he's ever run behind on a team that wants to run the ball a lot.

Hmmm. He's shown up to work every gameday and that's something Harbaugh values. Maybe his stats are all we need at RB. I'm just not sure. He just seems like another plotter that has numbers due to non-injury. JK Dobbins did ok until injured so anything is possible.

I won't argue he's been a plodder but I think the fit is a lot better for his running style to say nothing of the surrounding cast just making it easier.

Maybe they bring back Dobbins. They are kind of opposites in the sense Dobbins has been more electric, but can't say on the field. He'll have comp one way or another, but was part of RBBC the last few years in Pittsburgh as well.

I've long been curious to see him run in a scheme and OL better suited for him and think he has a chance to surprise people.

When I say this is it's a great outcome for him I did mean that mainly personally for him as he returns to CA to play on a physical run heavy contending team.

But I do like it for fantasy but keeping in mind it's a super low bar to clear. He may keep churning out 1k rushing yards but rushing yards in PPR fantasy are just not getting it done. You average 1K yards rushing a game and that's 6 fantasy points in pure rushing yards. I own him on two dynasty teams and have barely used him it the last few years. Had one team I put him in the lineup one single week in 2023. He's been like a RB4-5. So from fantasy angle it's relative.

Probably would have rather just kept Dowdle if I were Dallas. Not that Williams stops them from drafting a guy in the 1st 3 rounds.
