NFL GamePass (1 Viewer)

yeah, I had it -- it's superawesome

you can watch any game that's been played

there's condensed versions that take about half an hour

you can pull up a play by play and watch specific plays

you can keyword search that by player and watch plays by that player

you can toggle slow-mo

you can watch the all 22 view

It sounds awesome but you say you "had" it. Wasn't worth the price? Why don't you have it anymore?

I'm in the states and it was an overseas thing

NFL Game Pass is not available in the United States and Mexico*, but you can still get unlimited access to NFL games:....
I had a workaround on that issue, but since then they've made it tougher to get and I really just never bothered to figure out another solution

It's good to have but I dislike their business practices so as of right now I don't have it. The only other issue I saw was last year people were saying it was not working with Chromecast or they had no way of watching on their TV. Anyone know if this got fixed?

As for their business practices. They will auto renew you. So you got to watch out for that but what's worse is they make not renewing or cancelling not only difficult but they flat out have failed to honor the request. This year when I saw they auto renewed me I went to cancel, was just not sure I wanted it or now but when I saw they auto-renwed me for both the regular season and pre-season package I just wanted to do away with them. After rooting around on their website trying to find out where to do it, which takes some time, I found it you cancel by sending them an e-mail. I did, got billed anyway. Contacted them when I saw my CC statement and got it cleared away after some work. Later last season I messed up my recording of 49'ers vs Broncos game so I grabbed a one week trial so I could watch the game later that night. With the trial you have to cancel in a week. I cancelled after 5 days, via the e-mail system they have. Sure enough, a month later I saw the bill on my CC again. This time I quit dealing with NFL.com and had to contact CC company directly to dispute the charges, which eventually went away.

So bottom line is the it's a pretty nice thing to have and if you want to try it they should have a one week trail-if you can get it cancelled. I would use it to analyze players before I accepted or made a trade for them or when the dynasty rookie drafts would take place i would use it to analyze veterans in the player pool. I found the All-22 especially useful for analyzing WR's/TE's because with the standard camera angle you generally only see them when they get targeted so a lot about them you don't get to see. As a fan it's also nice to be able to go watch any game from the last few years during the painfully slow offseason. I just abhor their shady business practices so much I've not been able to bring myself to sign back up yet.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Romania had the cheapest Gamepass subscription..I miss being able to route thru the Netherlands, where NFL Gamepass used to be free until the work around got published on a big time news outlet

It's terrific and worth the money. I think it cost slightly over $100 for the full NFL season. You get EVERY game PLUS live NFL Network. For $40-50 more I think you can get year around NFL Network/access to condensed games. Believe you get condensed games going back 5 years I believe.

They were supposed to have a Chromecast app before this season. I don't believe that wound up happening (yet).

I had it while I was living abroad, it's great, ran it through my macbook through a converter into the HDMI on my TV, so long as you have good internet it looks great too.

The auto-renew is absolute horsecrap, something they should really do away with. The rest of the package is ace though!

Chromecast works, but not very well IMO. It's not a very good implementation.

Going into the season I was really excited to be able to cast my tab running 4 games onto the TV screen, but since the site is developed in Silverlight, sound didn't work.

From what I recall, official Chromecast support was released pretty late in the season, and I only ever tested from within Chrome. You would think that by casting from your browser it would display your screen, but it didn't. I was only able to cast a single game as opposed to watching 4 games on the screen at once. That was a drag.

NFL Game Pass is not available if you live in the States (without connecting through a proxy server). I can offer no input regarding connecting via a proxy server nor using Chromecast (I would love it if they added a Roku App).

When I was overseas several years ago, I subscribed, and Game pass worked well. My internet was dodgy at times; however, that is no reflection upon the service. I tended not to watch the games live, as they began at 4 am Monday morning, but all of the games were available in Rewind mode, including condensed versions of the game.

I continue to subscribe to Preseason Live and Game Rewind here in the states. There have been a few hiccups along the way. Last preseason, I missed out on some of the games because NFL.com's system was down for the Preseason Week 1 games, but when I called, they credited me a full refund and gave me the rest of the preseason free.

One of the coolest features in any of these packages is the condensed games feature. You can watch an entire game in about 30 minutes. You see every play, with huddles and lulls in action edited out.

For fantasy purposes, I find the search features especially helpful: if you want to watch only the plays a particular player touched the ball, you enter the player's name, identify the search criteria, and it pulls up plays involving strictly that player (you can search an individual game or the entire season). One caveat, however: while the search feature is a very useful tool, it does come with some troubling issues. (1) You search a player by last name only; while that works well for players with less common names such as Mathews, Sankey or Eifert, it is not as effective a search tool for a more common name such as Johnson. (2) Sometimes the plays are not accurately synced up. The search takes you to the wrong point in the game (very annoying).

I agree with others that the auto-renew feature can be a pain, but if you call and speak to a representative, they can cancel the auto-renew.
