NFL makes changes to 2010 Pro Bowl (1 Viewer)

In a move to generate more fan (read sponsor money) interest in what has become a lackluster exhibition/boondoggle for NFL players, the Commissioner's office and the NFLPA have agreed to spice up the 2010 Pro Bowl. Looking to leverage the $Billion industry that has become fantasy football there is expected to be an announcement by Roger Goodell during Draft weekend that the NFL will be launching their own Fantasy Football Championship.

It appears the NFL is looking to tap into some of the $$ we Sharks are spending with on other services by providing prize packages for winners of NFL approved fantasy leagues that will include a real-life version of a fantasy football championship. Instead of the same old player selection through fan/coach/player voting, the players invited to Hawaii will be those that are on the rosters of the top 2 point leaders in the season long NFL Fantasy Football Challenge.

The coaching staffs will be selected the way they have been all along, but the starting lineup for the first down of every series will be dictated by the GM/Coach of the top 2 Fantasy Football teams. Instead of traditional scoring the score boards will calculate scores based on the NFL Fantasy Scoring (I wonder if they'll have PPR?!).

Instead of the AFC/NFC teams, could you imagine a game announced as the Royal American Mounties versus the Wasilla Hockey Moms?!

The NFL has GENIUS marketers.
