NFL Mock Draft - 3 Rounds (2 Viewers)

I like Reggie Smith out of Oklahoma though and they have him falling into the middle of the 2nd round. Most mocks have him going in the first round. :kicksrock:
If Reggie Smith were available in the 2nd and the Vikings didn't take him, I think I'd burn my Vikings hat.Heck, I hope they take him in the first.

The Browns played a lot of "safe" defensive coverages this year because they had no pass rush and couldn't stop the run. On the surface the Browns' secondary looks like it needs help, but these guys weren't put in position to make plays; they were put in position to help other areas of the team that weren't adequate.Eric Wright's a stud in the making, Bodden's no #1 but a solid #2, and Brandon McDonald showed in limited opportunities he is certainly a fine nickel corner and I believe he may be the future #2 if Bodden doesn't improve. With Daven Holly in the hole the Browns will not take a CB at all in the draft, let alone the first three rounds. If the first 53 picks went this way I would expect the Browns to pursue Curtis Lofton, Lawrence Jackson, or Shawn Crable. Assuming they re-sign J Lew I doubt they'd prusue a RB either [even though I like Forte in that spot of the draft]; mgmt is pretty happy with Jason Wright and Jerome Harrison improved enough in 07 to assure himself a roster spot going forward. A WR like LaVelle Hawkins, Devin Harris, or Andre Caldwell would have made more sense.
I agree with most of this, but I do think Bodden played well this season. 6 Ints (5thT among DBs)88 tackles (18th among DBs)16 passes defensed (28thT among DBs)This is from a guy who didn't have much support in terms of QB pressure.
A high number of tackles isn't necessarily a good thing, and it's not in Bodden's case. Many of his tackles, relatively speaking, resulted from being beaten by his guy. I'm sure he still has nightmares of Chad Johnson and Bobby Engram dancing in his head. Contrast that with Eric Wright who had more of his tackles in run support and was just hitting his stride when he came down with the MCL injury. He has a lot of room for growth, this was only his 3rd season of football; he has superior ball skills and can keep up with WRs down field better than most. He showed some glimpses of being a shut down corner several times throughout the season [after that predictably dreadful start], Bodden? Great #2, avg #1.

I can't see the Lions going RB in round 1...I'd go...

#15 - Leodis McKelvin CB Troy

#47 - Lawrence Jackson DE USC

#79 - Jamaal Charles RB Texas

This helps the Lions fill their 3 biggest needs...Secondary, Pass Rush and Running Game...

Any thoughts on OT Chris Williams, Vanderbilt, first time he was predicted for the Steelers.
He had a great year for Vandy and a very good week at the Senior Bowl. The Steelers are in a very good position to get a good tackle in the draft and I personally think Williams would be a great pick for them. He's big and quick and can probably play anywhere along the line.
The problem is they don't need a tackle. They need a guard. I would really like to see more of him at guard before I endorsed this pick. This pick isn't bad, but his next two Steeler picks are terrible.
55. Pittsburgh Steelers – DE Cliff Avril, Purdue A perfect fit for the 3-4 scheme. Comes from a long line of Boilermaker speed rushers.
Why o why would you have any reason to think they want to send another pick on a guy to switch to OL?
87. Pittsburgh Steelers – S Jamar Adams, Michigan
Anthony Smith actually had a very good season. They are not looking for a safety.

Nice effort. From the perspective of a Bears fan, no offensive tackle selection in their 4 picks in the initial 3 rounds seems unlikely.
Agreed - though if those three tackles are off the board by the time the Bears pick in the first, I definitely like the Phillips pick. I didn't like the selection of Ray Rice in the 3rd round either.Overall, I was surprised to see how high he had Henne. I know he had an impressive Senior Bowl showing, but to see him as the 34th player taken overall seems a bit high.

The OLine needs addressed before running back. Otherwise, if Charles were to be selected you'd see nothing better than what you saw out of Tatum Bell this year, who Charles reminds me a lot of.

I think the Steelers need help at both guard and tackle.
