The game was on Directv Channel 212 in regular format and Channel 95 in HD. Looked absolutely perfect on my LCD. If you were watching 212 it was awful. I just happened across the game in HD while flipping during a commercial.

I don't get NFL Network in HD on my Comcast. I'll never understand the bad picture in this day and age. I guess they have no competition on Thursdays.

I don't even think it was a HD thing. It kind of reminded me of watching a CFL game. The game didn't have that NFL vibe to it. Hard to explain I guess.

I've been less than impressed with the quality of the HD broadcast on Comcast.
What area do you live in? Boston?I have comcast in Chicago, but they don't have NFL Network in HD....only standard channel.Gumble also doesn't help make the Thursday night game any better. Maybe he'll improve once he gets more used to it, but he has been horrible...COME ON.

I don't think we have the NFL Network in HD in Detroit either. At least I couldn't find it. The NFL Netowrk in SD looks worst than most SD shows do though.

Can anyone confirm getting the NFLN HD on Comcast last night?

Live in Boston, but watched it in Philly this week

for those in Boston:

I noticed after the game that both the NFL Network (715) and INHD2 (882?) were broadcasting the game.

Perhaps the INHD2 channel was the HD broadcast?

I agree that the NFL Network's HD was not very HD at all (perhaps one was in 780p and the other in 1080i?)

Dang it.......was just going to agree with the post. I watched it on 212 last night and I also have HD. I knew that wasn't in HD but didn't know about channel 95.Dang it!!! Oh well, next week.

my HD was fine on CH 95 of DIRECT TV

wish I could say the same about Bryant Gumbel, he's just simply AWFUL. mistake after mistake throughotu the broadcast, and he needs to stop sounding like he is telling news instead of play by play of a live NFL game. Show a little enthusiasm!

I found the game on INHD 2 if you have that channel on comcast. It just was not on the program guide

Yea it was on in Detroit on channels 180 and 275 also on INHD 2 channel 206

I have Comcast in Chicago - On Thanksgiving, the game was on it's normal channel of 168, but also on HD station 174. It wasn't easy to find though - if you browsed the menu, 174 supposedly had a movie on, but the game was actually on.

Last night, I tried 174 again - no game, just a movie.

So, I was forced to watch on 168.

Any idea what Comast is going to do for future games ?

I have comcast here, and I don't have NFLN available in HD (though I do have 2 SD NFLN channels for some reason). I do have the INHD channels, but didn't check them last night.

Does anyone know why comcast would give me 2 SD NFLN channels, but no HD? What kind of sense does that make?

channel 95! maybe the nfl or direct tv should let us know this? it is particularly horrible on 212. thanks for the heads up

I live in CT. I have both Direct TV and Cox Cable.

Cox has added the NFL Network's to its full time HD menu (channel #702). The quality of the NFL Network's HD broadcast's (including last night, the Chiefs/Broncos game and the "rewind" games each Tues and Wed night) have been "best in class". Better than Fox's HD football, on par with ESPN. CBS isn't bad (better than Fox), but not sure that its as good as the NFL Network or ESPN.

Also available on Direct TV HD on channel 95, same top quality output.

Everytime I watch Gumbel all I can think about is him saying, "Speaking of clothing....that's a very unusual shirt you have on Jerry...it's kind of puffy......"

Tthe HD picture looked fantastic. Anyone else notice the NFL Network crew uses tighter zooms on the players than some of the other networks do?

If it didn't look great on your setup, than something is wrong with your setup.

I'm outside of Boston.

Ch 265 is the NFL network, but CH 882 HD was carrying the game in HD.

I actually thought it looked better than FOX or the CBS HD telecasts.

It really depends on your set-up, and your provider.

I have DTV as well...it looked perfect on ch 95...but exceptionally bad on 212. Even the non-HD games don't normally look that bad, but this did for some reason. I had to split time on two tvs...the HD and non-HD. It was night and day.

I know alot of people were bashing the play by play as well. I thought Gumbel was a neutral (I like Tirico as a better new guy), but Collinsworth was pretty good (waaaaaay better than the Kornheiser/Theismann disaster). That description of the 4th down pass at the end where the WR didn't make hard enough cut or turn his body correctly was interesting. My guess is I'm in the minority here.

I have INHD and INHD2 as well as both NFLN channels (180 and 275). HD was not on ANY of them, I checked several times.

I watched the game on NFLN HD last night, via Comcast and it looked amazing as usual. 50" Sony LCD.

As far as Collinsworth, I think you are spot one. He isn't the most colorful but his commentary was insightful. Tirico/Collinsworth would be a good combo. As far as Gumbel, he ought to be teamed with Kornheiser/Theisman and be broadcasting women's wrestling - all 3 are terrible. Despite liking Tirico, after the fourth game, I turned the volume off for Monday nights, just can't take those clowns, but even those guys look solid compared with Gumbel - he can't get downs, scores or times down - that was the worst play by play I have ever heard.
