NFL Rewind (1 Viewer)

Can anyone using NFL Rewind or the Preseason Rewind let me know how they like it?

How long have you used it?

Any issues?

My cable provider doesn't offer the NFL Network so I can't view all of the preseason games.

I may look into subscribing to the Preseason rewind to get the games and then the NFL Rewind to make up for not having Redzone.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I used the pc until the tablet version came out. You can do everything on the tablet besides watch 4 games at once I believe. You can draw on the screen like Madden did on the tablet. I've never used it though.

You can watch condensed games in 3min, the entire broadcast, play by play or coaches film.

You can't watch live games. If that's your aim just find a live stream online somewhere. I usually watch local/national games and rdzn on sunday then catch any other game condensed throughout the week.

Nope, I just want to be able to watch on demand, or if I want to watch the short cut version.

It looks like those are both features.

I wish I could get Redzone

I used both last season. I didn't get to use either as much as I wanted, but for when I did use either they were worth every single penny.

Just so you know, they do turn off "game rewind" when any other game is on (Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday night), but you'd likely be watching those games live anyway.

This is important. It seemed to me the delay after the conclusion of Monday night football was significant. I'm not sure why.

It's an inexpensive service and a pretty good value but not having the ability to stream any finished game whenever you want is pretty frustrating especially when you are trying to watch games before FF waiver wire moves happen on TUE/WED in most leagues.

Here's what I do:

Two TVs in the living room.

One has local cable, playing Redzone channel. The other hooked up to PS3, watching whatever game I want.

Get the Sunday Ticket for PS3, and you can watch every game, or the RedZone Channel.

Buy Madden 25 (xbox or ps3) on Amazon for $100 and you'll get an access code to get Sunday Ticket online with it to watch all live games.

Sell the game for $40-$50 afterward. And you've got the Sunday Ticket to Go for around $50. I ditched D-TV a couple years ago as I really have no need for it outside the Ticket.

I'm not real familar with hooking up PC to TV to watch on TV, but I'm sure it can be done as well.

I recently bought a PS3 dirt cheap to use as a movie streaming device and have read you can use the PS3 for Sunday Ticket as mentioned in this thread...

... Do you have to prove to them you don't have access to direct TV? Or is it as simple as checking a box that says I don't have access to direct TV?
That simple. had it last two years.

I have had game rewind for the past 3 years and love it. Games stream smoothly on the pc, it's cheap and the condensed games are a great way to kill half an hour.

Wow, that's a great deal. I'm on Verizon and I usually have to upgrade my cable package to get the NFL network and then pay $50 to buy RedZone. This way I can do the same for about $50 but also be able to watch every Giants game (I live in DC). Thanks for posting this.

Can anybody comment on the quality though? I plan on streaming through a laptop that is plugged into my big screen.

It has been reported that it can be lackluster.

I tried it a time or two couple years ago when out of town (and had the regular ticket) and it was so so. For $50-$60, gonna give it another shot as the price can't be beat (compared to cost of TV packages/upgrades etc..) I've ditched D-TV/cable (and not real interested in getting it back). I'm not sure of the quality when streaming laptop to TV as I've never done.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback. I think I'm going to have to give it a try.

I wonder if they have any discounts if you buy the preseason and rewind?

Here is a link from last year, reviewing the PC and PS3 streaming quality. http://www.sportsgeekery.com/28860/review-nfl-sunday-ticket-on-ps3-ipad-and-online/

It seems from that review that the PS3 quality is a lot better than the PC version. It's my opinion that Direct TV would have to step up this year and provide a better streaming quality for people viewing on a computer. Because they do offer a $250 package that you can get to stream to your computer, without having Direct TV service. So I'm hoping with last years below average streaming quality, that they have rectified this problem, and this year the quality will be better.

I also would have to believe the streaming quality would depend a lot on your home internet connection. Most streaming sites will adjust the quality of the stream, depending on how slow or fast your internet connection is, to avoid the dreaded buffering. I would have to believe Direct TV would do the same adjusting of the stream quality depending on your internet. I have decent speeds with Time Warner (30 MB down/5 MB up). So I'm at least hoping my connection speed would allow me to receive the highest streaming quality they offer.

I've already pre-ordered Madden 25 for PS3. I buy Madden every year anyway, so another 40 bucks to try out the NFL Sunday Ticket streaming is totally worth it for me. I also CANNOT get direct TV service at my apt complex. I plan on using my laptop with HDMI out to my big screen as well.

There have been the last two years. Buy preseason first, and at check out it "should" ask you if you want to add rewind at a reduced cost.
