Seems like the NFL is tight lipped about the schedule, but around 24 hours before some big games get leaked. Wondering what you are all hearing.

Strange. In past years we have heard about a few games by now. Guess it will make for good TV tomorrow night.I'm hearing that the title of this thread is misleading. I was expecting to come in here and read about some actual leaks of the NFL schedule.
Like you won't be watching.Three hour special to announce the schedule is no longer suprising. The NFL jumped the shark long ago when they thought it was entertainment to watch a bunch of guys in spandex and under armor count their bench press reps live. This was the new nadir of sports programming.

We already know every opponent each team will have. That tweet from Schefter is pretty much worthless.@AdamSchefter: Sked: Broncos and Wes Welker vs. Patriots, Texans and Ed Reed vs Ravens, and Ravens and Elvis Dumervil vs Broncos. Thanks Adam .. Any idea when?
For those who like to follow a team on the road, it's exciting because you can start making your travel plans for the fall. I know a bunch of Lions fans who are chomping at the bit to find out what date they'll be out here in Phoenix so they can start looking at arrangements. Can I be the first to say it, but who cares.
This would be a much bigger deal if we didnt know the opponents beforehand. A 3 hour show...really?Can I be the first to say it, but who cares. Everyone knows each team plays about half their games against team within their division. Everyone knows what other divisions each division is playing a few years in advance. The unknown is like 2 games per season and when each game is played. Big deal. The NFL having a 3 hour show to promote the schedule is laughable, but even more sad is that there are people that are going to watch more than 1 minute of it. For shame.
Yeah, 3 hours is stupid. It's usually released on the internet on or before the show's start time.Fine and dandy Azgroover, but a 3 hour television event that people are actually going to sit and watch? Come on. You want to make travel plans? Cool. Go to nfl.com tonight or tomorrow and download the schedule. I was moreso commenting on the ridiculousness of both the 3 hour show and the fact that millions of people have nothing better to do than to watch it.
Lay a bet on the Skins' winning the Super Bowl if true...Unconfirmed, but just heard on DC radio that the Skins open vs the Eagles on Monday night. Not clear who the home team is. Source is being listed as Adam Carriker
Bingo. Plus season ticket holders want to know about sunday or Monday night. Exactly. A bunch of us are waiting to plan road trips, weekends, etc.Bingo. Plus season ticket holders want to know about sunday or Monday night. Good posting. My wife's a teacher, so every year we have a 4 day window in October where we could fly out for the weekend for a road game. So for us, it is exciting. Sort of like a lottery. You have the cities you've already been to, the places you want to go. Or it could simply be a home game/bye. We watch because it makes it all the more exciting. If we hit, the wife begins travel plans immediately. If not, better luck next year. Just something we do together. If you think its stupid/don't care, don't watch. But I'd bet there's still a buttload who will. For those who like to follow a team on the road, it's exciting because you can start making your travel plans for the fall. im guessing it will be SF or Sea, if not them playing each otherRaiderfan32904 said:I just hope the Raiders aren't playing a 10:45 PM EST Monday Night Game on opening weekend. Please spare us this ritual.
Yep, you don't even have to follow a particular team. I'm going to be in Dallas for the ASU/Notre Dame game in October. I'd love to go back to the stadium the next day for a Cowboys game to make it a doubleheader weekend. Today, I find out if that's possible.Football Menace said:Good posting. No.all teams play on thursday once, right?SaintsInDome2006 said:Personally I'm just hoping for the Saints to have a nice opening stretch plus some home SNF & MNF games and no TNF.
obgs imoDon't listen to this guy. Definitely a BG spreading misinformation.I read on a twitter feed from Ann Carroll that the Vikings' game in London against the Steelers is week four, and then Vikes have a week five bye (assume Pitt would as well).
Vote Funky
This along with who I may not have to face because their players are on bye weeks when I play them.SaintsInDome2006 said:Personally I'm just hoping for the Saints to have a nice opening stretch plus some home SNF & MNF games and no TNF.
This used to be fun...no leaks now....Not so Fun Leagu e.......
This is the league that made a middle aged man reading names off a 3 by 5 card arguably into its 2nd bigest event. The ability of the NFL to make rather mundane events (also see the combine), into market opportuntities is beyond amazing.GridironMenace said:Can I be the first to say it, but who cares. Looking forward to that one.
Makes sense. Also tells me this is what the game would have probably been if Baltimore would have changed the Orioles game.I'm hearing Patriots at Ravens is the Monday night game in Week 2.
This is the one i had my eye on... 1 week earlier would have been better, but I'm sure my pals will travel down for this gameAlso now hearing Pats at Miami on Dec. 15.
