Angry Cheesehead
Compulsive Gambler
Some of you have participated in the Survivor pool that Christopher Davis has ran in the past at www.pick-empool.com He he has informed me that he will not be running one of these this year. In his absence, I am looking to run one of my own, this year. It will not be as large (hopefully, for my sake) as his, but these things are usually pretty fun. I have pasted the e-mail that I sent to people I know personally, below:
As a note, I do not have anyone here that can vouch for me, as this is my first year trying to organize something like this. If you are not comfortable with that, I understand, and please do not sign up.
I'd like to organize a Survivor/Last Man Standing Pool for the NFL
this year. For those of you that are unfamiliar with something like
this, let me explain the basic rules:
Before the game's beginning, each player will contribute $10. Each
week, beginning Week 1, you will submit a NFL team that you think will
win its game that week (straight up, without spread). If that team
wins, you continue on in the game. If that team loses, however, you
are out of the game for the remainder of the season. The catch,
however, comes from the fact that once you pick a team, you can NOT
pick that team again during the regular season. (Example: If you pick
New England to win in Week 1, you cannot pick them again for the other
16 weeks). If the game extends into the playoffs, this restriction is
listed, and players remaining pick the winners of ALL of that week's
games, with the person(s) getting the most correct advancing to the
final week. The game continues until there is one player remaining.
That player will receive the entire pot. If the game ends in a tie
(either after the super bowl, or with the remaining people being
eliminated in the same week.), the pot will be split evenly among the
winners.
I will provide more detailed rules if I can drum up enough interest.
If you are interested, please let me know, via PM, as soon as possible. If
you know anyone that may be interested, please forward this to them,
as well, them ore people we can get, the better this pot will build
to.
