NFL Value > Fantasy Value (1 Viewer)

Last year I remember saying repeatedly that Steve Smith (NYG) was extremely important to his team in an NFL sense, but that his value didn't translate to the fantasy world. I really didn't expect this to change, at least not to the degree that is has this year.

What other players fit this category? Bonus points if they have the potential to breakout into something more.

I'll nominate Jason Avant (who should be on everyone's radar with DeSean's concussion & his recent success).

Vince Wilfork.
IDPs don't count. Generally, there's some correlation between fantasy stats and NFL value on offense. On defense, though... there's almost no correlation. Defensive statistics the result of scheme and the quality of the supporting cast more than anything else.

Joshua Cribbs. In leagues that give points for return yardage he holds a lot of fantasy value, but in most leagues he's worthless.

Total uberstud for the Browns.

Good posts from the two guys above me... Faulk and Cribbs are the two names that came to my mind right away.

And I know this is a little early, and a little bit of a homer pick, but Larod Stephens-Howling does ALOT for the Redbirds. Trapped 3 punts inside the 5 this past week and has a few tackles on kickoff and is a solid threat returning as well.
