Could've been possible that Calgary made it known they were going to offer sheet Dougie and Boston did what it could and got a hair more than they would've from the OS compensation.

I wonder if the Bs countered with Nurse, 16 and 33 or 57 for Hamilton. If so, I'm glad the Oilers turned them down. Bruins settled for 15, 45 and 52 from Calgary? Not surprised Bruins tried to squeeze more out of Chiarelli.

Sounds like the Flames were prepared to give a huge offer sheet to Hamilton regardless of what happened. Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if the B's had made a deal with EDM or some other team.
Brian Burke changed his mind? Called Kevin Lowe gutless for the Penner one.

I said at the time of the Penner offer sheet that Burke was just pissed he got caught with his pants down and Lowe scooped up Penner.He would do the same thing when it was in his best interests. Hopefully the Hamilton deal works out as well for Calgary as the Penner deal did for Edmonton.
