Nick Roach (1 Viewer)

what is everyone's thoughts and possible projections for Nick. I've always thought of him as maybe above adequate LB'er that won't hurt on the field but can/could the kind to be a stat stuffer when given a ton of snaps........without significant impact to go along those stats. KFFL reported he was signed to the raiders MLB but other reports are less clear. definetly a situation to monitor

2 down thumper in the middle for OAK. Doubt he has much fantasy impact in all but the deepest of leagues.
a lot will depend on if they draft an LB high, but even a low rounder will compete with him I think. Right now I think hes a 3 downer until after the draft; plus theres still some vets out there

He played very well last season when Urlacher was out. I think he could have low LB2/high Lb3 value.

Per Rotoworld

Coach Dennis Allen confirmed Nick Roach will play middle linebacker for the Raiders. After filling a variety of roles for the Bears, Roach was signed to replace Rolando McClain in Oakland. There's plenty of IDP upside here as McClain was able to average 6.1 tackles per game in the role over the last two seasons. Roach doesn't pack the same type of punch at just 234 pounds, but can get sideline-to-sideline quicker.

i think many are writing him off b/c he was only a 2down player for the past 4years. when the truth is under lovie smith nobody would displace Briggs/Urlacher in the Nickel.........EVER. Brian Urlacher could've been out there on a crutch and Lovie would have left his boy out there in the nickel.

Nick can run and cover reasonably well. He is by no means a 2down thumper. it will be interesting to see how the snaps are divided up between burris and the 3new LB'ers and who gets the lead roles
