Nicks (1 Viewer)

Looking at the first two weeks, WR's going against Philly corners have not done much.

Week 1:

B. Gibson - 3 for 50

D. Amendola - 5 for 45 (inj)

M. Sims-Walker - 1 for 5

Week 2:

J. Jones - 2 for 29

R. White - 3 for 23 (1 TD)

I know everyone says "Don't bench your studs". But you know the Philly defense will be keying on Nicks with Manningham and Hixon banged up (not sure if Manningham plays). Is anyone sending him to the bench this week? And if so, for who?

When you consider how poorly Eli has looked, you have to strongly consider if you have any other options on your bench.

Look at Roddy White's targets.Week 1 13Week 2 4 (vs Phil)

I can't bench Nicks. Even if he doesn't get yards he's too much of a beast in the red zone to sit down IMO. That being said, I'm sitting Manningham and playing the likes of Owen Daniels instead (was going to play Simpson but that went to pot). AND, I'm whole heartedly starting the Philly D against Eli. So either hoping TD's to Nicks are those horribly erratic throws see green all night.

Don't forget that Turner and Gonzalez had huge weeks, so Ryan didn't force it to White. Nicks doesn't have a Gonzalez on his team, so I would think he would get more than 4 targets. The other thing is that the Falcons weren't exactly held down on offense, so I would expect red zone opportunities and that is why even against good corners I wouldn't sub in for Nicks. Eli loves him in the red zone and as seen on Monday, Nicks is very, very good in those short TD opportunities.

Benching him for Decker or A. Bradshaw. With the injuries to Manningham and Hixon PHI will focus to shut Nicks down. With no real TE threat I think Bradshaw will be used in the passing game more than usual.

Asomugha is a beast and in my opinion the best corner in the league. That being said, sit Nicks, are you crazy? Asomugha is nasty but Nicks is just as nasty. I'm actually looking forward to watching this game to see how Nicks fairs. I'll say he puts up a TD and around 60 yards this week.

This was my gut instinct as well but what nags at me is that "Nicks will get his" mentality. It's either Nicks or D. Nelson for me as well.

Sitting him for Maclin. But then, that's not really a tough decision right now.
sounds like you are chasing to me.
It's not chasing when the guy you're starting was almost a top 10 receiver last year. Maclin had 15 targets last week and was the second highest scoring non-QB in all of fantasy last week. Furthermore, a matchup with the banged up Giants D versus facing the best corner in the game is a pretty easy decision.
