Niece was attacked (1 Viewer)

Ok, she really wasn't, but the friend she was walking with was

Both girls are in 7th grade.

Couple days ago while my niece and one of her friends were walking home from school, a car pulled up and a couple high school girls, two 8th grade girls, and one of the girls mother jumped out of a car near them.

The girls approached my niece and her friend and started berating her friend. "you're fat(she's not)" "I've heard what you've been saying about me" "who do you think you are?".......these kinds of things. Her friend, who recently moved into town, told the girls she had no idea what they were talking about, that she didn't even know who they were.

Niece and her friend tried walking away, when one of the 8th grade girls grabbed my nieces friend and started punching her in the face. She fell to the ground and tried to protect her face. She was beaten with fists and then kicked.......all the while being prodded by the mother to "make the little girls bleed" WTF?

My niece ran to her friends home to call the police. Mother, thug daughter, and friends fled before the cops showed up. Leaving my nieces friend bleeding on the side of the street.

She ended up with two black eyes, and lacerations all over her face.

The police and told the two younger girls that they can't file any charges against the other girl because it was juvenile on juvenile crime.........this is BS right? Apparently they are looking into filing charges against the mother for her actions...I won't hold my breath.

So now my niece is scared to leave her home as they thugs live about 6 houses down from them.

I picked her up yesterday so she can spend the weekend with us...........I'm pissed, what can I do?

What the #### is wrong with people?

Im sorry this happened. I cant help with the legal aspect. But I am trying to connect the dots. Is this the family who moved in with you (SIL is her mom)

I hope nothing comes back on her in a snitches get stiches type of thing

Lmao at juvenile on juvenile crime. Sounds like theyre lazy and dont wanna fill out any paperwork and hope this can be resolved without stepping in.

Assault is assualt. Of course they can press charges. Restraining order seems to be in order as well. Get a lawyer.

Seems like the mom would be in some trouble and didn't realize that as long as it's two kids that they can beat each other like that. That doesn't seem correct.

Surprised someone didn't film this with their phone.

Niece overheard one of the older girls talking about filming it.

guess they didn't

Yeah, it's scary how often I see moms encouraging their daughters ratchet ### behavior. We are dealing with a social media issue right now that includes a girl, her mom and aunt posting videos online calling another student fat, slutty, ugly, threatening to come to the parking lot after school and jump her, etc.

wtf?!

I had friends go to juvie... that doesn't exist any more or have cops just gotten that lazy.

I wouldn't accept that "juvenile on juvenile" bs... speak to the dope's supervisor and so on. this wasn't a couple of kids getting in a scrape over a boy- this was pre-meditated assault, aided and probably instigated by a grown woman who should be facing legal problems herself.

wtf.

That is ####ed up. When you file charges the mother should be the first person you go after. She enabled and encouraged the entire incident.

You want to know how to get this mother and these girls?

They punch a girl, you shoot a girl.

They send a girl to the hospital, you send one to the morgue.

That's the Chicago way.

This is most certainly a crime. If local police won't do anything I'd call the county or Sheriff law enforcement. If they don't do anything, jackpot, you live in a lawless environment and retaliation with stern violence should be your response.

That story is insane.

Trying to imagine the angle some FBG contrarian will argue to make this your niece and daughte's fault but I'm coming up empty.

Sure because I'm sure they will own up to their behavior.

The mom and the girls are going to have a completely different story. And then what? Not saying the cop shouldn't pursue it. It's bs that they didn't. I just don't think it's likely that it gets very far in the justice system.

With the injuries though a restraining order might be a realistic outcome, no?

Your niece was walking down the street Ha

They would like to press charges Ha

That mother sounds really horrible Ha

You know who got that fire green Ha
You know how to use a triple beam Ha

We've only heard one side of the story. As reported by 7th graders. And filtered through several family members until a guy put it on the Internet. I'm wondering if there may be another side to such a far fetched story.

At least under Colorado law anyone over 10 can be charged and anyone 11 or older can be detained. If she sustained a broken bone or a cut that required stitches, a case could be made for 2nd Degree Assault which is a felony.

The mom could be hit for Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor (another Felony) and hit with Conspiracy to Commit 2nd Degree Assault.

There is no way the police can decline to press these charges. I would raise hell.

Probably far fetched, because, ya know, crazy dispicable behavior never happens these days.

Sounds like niece's friend should call the Colorado police then.

Right. Well, that and the part of the story where a teenage girl was assaulted, got two black eyes and lacerations on her face at the hands of a group of people at the urging of adults, and the police were called and showed up and just shrugged if off with a "sorry, there's nothing we can do here."

Like I said, curious to hear more. Something in this story doesn't quite sound right.

First I don't find it at all far fetched and second Wrigley has never given us a reason to doubt his veracity.

Sounds par for the course regarding the patient population I work with.

I have also become quite heavily in favor of sterilization.

Yes- do all of the things listed above. Contact police and go up the chain of command. Raise hell. Also talk to the local DA's office - they can get the charges filed too. That office should also have a victim advocate section - they can help. Take pics of the injuries - you need evidence.

This is despicable behavior on part of the attackers/mom and the cops.

Take niece to doctor or hospital so that injuries are professionally documented and photographed.

Have niece and friend write down detailed statement.

Contact attorney and law enforcement.
