Was a fan back in the Tarja days. Kinda fell off while Anette was there and then rediscovered them about 5 years ago with Floor.
Floor is an absolutely incredible singer. I think she could sing the dictionary and make it sound epic. Enjoy the rabbit hole you're about to go down.

Dude you have missing out. I've been listening them for yrs now since College so a little over a decade now. Tuomas the keyboardist fired original lead singer Tarja Turunnen after creative differences. If we had what we have now in social media it probably would've been much larger publicized feud. Some people blame Tarja's husband an Argentina Businessman who is her manager and other blame Tuomas. You'll need to understand this part of the Nightwish history. They had a singer named Aneete who was ok but she was no where near Tarja and Floor eventually. Check out Oceansborn and Century Child for Tarja Material Sami Vänskä their original bassist sang the male deep vocals before being replace after Over The Hills recording do to creative differences with Tuomas . Theres a concert on Youtube that is End of an Era tour. It's Tarja's last concert with the band and theres a live album with it you can stream (wasn't there for yrs and neither was most of the two albums). It was filmed in their Heilsinki at the Hartwall Arena. Hindsight if you watch the concert now knowing what happened shortly after this (She was immediately fired on the plane in an open letter) it's quite surreal as you see the emotions in he band. Tarja's reaction last part of the concert she almost knows this is her last gig with them. Tuomas is almost emotionless as well. Annette has a live Album called Live in Hong Kong with the band. She does fairly well but the issue I had with her was a lot of the older stuff I loved especially Marco (The bassist and more on him later) Tarja's duet of Phantom of The Opera. The Band on their next album has a song called "Bye Bye Beatiful" the music video features the band going back and fourth from who they are to a imagine of an all girl band with a girl who looked like Tarja. Some took it as a shot at Tarja from Tuomas. I unfortunately missed the Tarja ERA however Floor brings some of that mood back and she can sing a lot of the original stuff.
Donnely the guy on the pipes came on with Floor as a full-time member during the Storytime tour that Annette originally did but was on The Dark Passion's play and part time member since Annette came on. There seemed to be some antics she claimed going behind her back but it was more creative differences and they brought in Floor who did a few shows. Then she did Wacken which is a Heavy Metal festival in Wacken Germany going on for over 30 yrs. Basically if you've never heard of it to summarize it, It's the Mecca of all Metal festivals and has a ton of bands from Glam, Death, black metal, heavy metal, etc. Scorpions, Blind Guardian, Dio, Arch Enemy etc have all headlined over the last decade. 3 day festival in the first weekend of August every year. The concert is on Youtube along with the a mini documentary called PLEASE LEARN THE SET LIST IN 48 HOURS that takes you behind the scenes of Floor being in the band. After the tour they announced Troy and Floor as new members. Floor was originally going to be hired to Replace Tarja before Annete but Floor decided to take time away after playing in her band After Forever after suffering a burnout from touring and playing. So the band went with their second choice in Annette to replace Tarja. Floor with Nightwish did a second Live Album called Vehicle in Spirits filmed and recorded at Wembley and Tampre but the CD only has the Wembley show. The DVD set has both shows and the live album which is kinda disappointing and they only did an EP of Tampere . They have a greatest Hits live Album DECADES LIVE out with her where she signs Stargazer and Gethsemene, Kingslayer (About the Columbine Shooting), Come Cover me, 10th Man Down, Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean (Find this on Youtube Wishmastour with Tarja it's amazing), The Carpenter, Sacramento Wilderness, and a few others from the Tarja Era. Many fans of the era were excited to see these songs done and a few rerecorded with Floor. They have a few live concerts on Youtube with Floor you can watch. Live in Tampere is great and very emotional because Floor's mother was at this concert. Both Wembley and this are on Youtube. If you just type in Nightwish live you are gonna get mostly the Floor stuff but definitely check out and type in Tarja with Nightwish. Some really good old school footage and old DVD videos of a few shows and some concerts they did back in the day. It also shows how much the band has matured since musically and live show atmosphere.
Don't be afraid to check out Tarja's solo stuff. It's also really good. She did a really cool Christmas album that felt more Gothic and haunting. As for Marco Heitela he's their or I should say was the Bass Player. He was the original bassist and singer for Finnish Heavy Metal Ban Tarot one of the first pioneers into Finnish Heavy Metal. He along with Children of Bodom's recently deceased lead singer Guitarist Alexi Laiho are known as the faces of the Finnish heavy metal scene by many. Laiho and Marko played in Synergy together before he joined Nightwish. Marko announced shortly after (about a week or so) of Laiho's passing he sent in his resignation to Nightwish claiming issues with Music industry and mental health issues. He's taking the time off for the year and asked no one contact him from the industry or publications for the exception of his child hood hero Toni Iommi. Nightwish said they will continue the Humane Tour when possible after the Pandemic as planned with a sessions bass player (I haven't heard any rumors or anything though on this).
Jukka the Original drum player with the rag on his head left the band shortly after the Annette did. He has severe insomnia and said it effected his play. He is still very much part of the band in ideas and all and helps with the managerial aspects now as well. he's still on tour with them just handling more business and behind the scenes aspects. Kai Hahto is now the drummer. Not sure a lot about him haven't heard of his other bands before.
Overall enjoy the ride you are about to take. One of my favorite moments was New Years Day in Philly we have a Mummers parade where it's like our Mardi Gras to explain it. We have a Division called the Fancies who are now at the convention center do to the stage props and costumes they wear have become so good and now need protection from the weather the one band ended up doing a routine to a Nightwish medley including I want My Tears back, Last Ride of The Day, etc. Fun fact but My Assistiant Manager at the time she knows some of the members of the Shooting Stars who are very local to my area.

This. Floor is an awesome singer, but since I am not really a Nightwish fan, I get my fix in her contributions with Arjen in Ayreon.

She was suppose to sign with Nightwish after Tarja left in the beginning but Floor was so worn out she needed some time off.

If you need some more suggestions then I'd be happy to help. I might be more into a lot of the WHOLE SCENE in general then most here but I could be wrong.
