I voted for Braves in 5.
This is my vote too and somewhat of a homer pick. This should be the closest of the 4 series I think as I could see any of the poll options realistically happening. Lincecum could get 2 wins in the series and the Braves still win but realistically I think they will need to beat him once to take it. I'm curious to see what Bobby will do with the rotation. Ideally Hanson starts game 3 at home where he'll be more comfortable but according to ESPN.com it shows Hanson starting game 2 and Hudson game 3. The extra rest could benefit Hudson who seems tired but I'm not sure pitching Hanson in game 2 and 5 in SF is the recipe for a series win.

I voted w/ my heart for the Giants. This team never does anything the easy way so 5 games is the most likely scenario

Really no rooting interest here. I'll take the giants in 4 due to the pitching staff they will throw out there and thinking Lincecum wins both starts. Matching that with my Phillies in 4 pick, I'll take the Giants to upset the Phillies in 7 in what will go down in history as the greatest 7 game series in the history of baseball where the pitchers put on an absolute clinic of epic proportions. This give me a Yankees Giants World Series .

What was Puff the Magic Dragon's w/l and era vs Braves this year?

Rotoworld is reporting Zito will not be starting for the Giants in the post-season. If they need/want a fourth stater they'll use MadBum.
Will he even be on the 25 man roster? I wouldn't even feel comfortable with Zito as a LOOGY. It's different from his normal role. Also, I seem to recall there was something unusual about his warm-up routine. Could he be ready to go if given five minutes in the bullpen?

Ok. In 2 starts he was 0-1 with approximately a 3.75 era. Meanwhile Lowe was 2-0 vs SF with about a 2.25 era.

Giants have actually made some smart roster decisions (go figure!), leaving Zito and Guillen off the NLDS roster. Big question now is whether they go Burrell-Torres-Ross or Burrell-Rowand-Torres in the outfield.

My dislike of Jose Guillen runs deep but the decision to keep the extra IF in Renteria instead of Guillen is the only one I'd question. I suppose it makes sense to be able to use Renteria as a defensive replacement for Uribe but that assumes he's healthy enough. Four middle IF is on the heavy side.

Rentaria is supposedly healthy (for now) - I can't imagine he will see the field unless Uribe gets hurt, or perhaps as you say for defensive purposes in the late innings. I'm just happy they left Guillen off the roster so Bochy can't start him anymore. Cody Ross is much better, but still Bochy kept trotting Guillen out there every day down the stretch.

Lineups, according to the SJ Merc News Beat writer:

CF Torres

2B Sanchez

1B Huff

C Posey

LF Burrell

SS Uribe

3B Sandoval

RF Ross

P Lincecum

3B Infante

RF Heyward

1B Lee

C McCann

SS Gonzalez

LF Diaz

3B Conrad

CF Ankiel

P Lowe

Presumably one of Infante and Conrad will be playing 2B. This is probably the Giants' best lineup, taking offense and defense into consideration.

If the Braves play two 3B, hopefully the Giants will be able to exploit it by hitting the ball up the middle. That Bobby Cox doesn't get enough credit for innovation.

:popcorn:Gonna be throwing a lot of off speed stuff to righties and pitching the lefties away...

Great line. Cox is overrated anyway!

What pitch is Lowe throwing at 90mph that breaks back over the inside corner to a LH hitter? That was nasty.

That one is on the second base umpire. What a joke.
Its easy to see in slow mo. In real time Buster made it a close call. He was clearly out on the replay but that two out knock by Ross had nothing to do with the ump. Giants are lucky to be on the board but there out there making things happen.

Yeah, not sure why they walked Pablo to get to Ross. He looked bad in his first at bat.

This would be a good time to start warming up Wilson. Timmy has done his job. Save his arm for Game 4 if you need it. Wilson is fresh. At least get him warm.

If I hear that ### #### Kid Rock song again I'm gonna shoot myself. No more TBS for me.
Anybody know how I find out the name of the other song they play? Not the one for all the promos and stuff, I'm talking about the instrumental one that they play between innings, usually in the later innings for dramatic effect. Usually only a couple of seconds or so.

:lmao: :pickle:  Tim Lincecum!

Bit of a shame that the run that scored was a bit dodgy, but oh well. Tm Lincecum!
