I've had a lot of dental work done over the years, always with just the needles to numb everything up.
I went yesterday to a new dentist to have a crown replaced and they asked if I would want nitrous oxide. I was a little hesitant at first but decided to try it. The assistant started with oxygen and slowly introduced the nitrous. She told me to say if I was feeling dizzy or nauseous. After a couple of minutes, nothing. She turned it up and still nothing. When the dentist came in, she put it up higher saying some people are more resistant. Still nothing even when she supposedly maxed it out. I went though with the procedure and never felt anything.
I'm not really nervous at the dentist as long as I'm numbed up. If I was already calm, would that explain not having any effect on me? Should I have definitely felt something different?
