More on Owens...

Roy Philpott

3/16/2006

A report out of a CBS affliate in Lubbock, Tex. indicated Thursday that the Dallas Cowboys have signed unrestricted free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens.

TheRanchReport.com has now confirmed that report is false.

According to two sources close to Owens, he has not yet signed a contract of any kind with the Dallas Cowboys.

That does not mean he will not sign with Dallas at a future date. However, at this time, TheRanchReport.com has confirmed the report is indeed false.

Owens has been rumored to land in Dallas for weeks, however after his release from the Eagles on Wednesday, that speculation has only increased. The Cowboys then added fuel to the fire when they released wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson the same day.

However, as of Thursday evening, Terrell Owens has not yet signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

Our first false report of the offseason?

Cowboys | Report - Owens agrees to three-year deal with DallasThu, 16 Mar 2006 20:55:47 -0800

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, free agent WR Terrell Owens' (Eagles) agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has denied a report from KLBK-13 CBS TV in Lubbock, Texas, that Owens has agreed to a deal with the Dallas Cowboys. While Rosenhaus is denying the report, a source close to Owens has confirmed to FOXSports.com that Owens has agreed to a three-year deal and it will not be announced until the coming days.

As much as I want to believe he'll end up in Miami and not Dallas, it appears as if the deal is most likely done and the Cowboys and co. are trying to keep it under wraps for a couple days before announcing it.

Trying to keep quiet on this until Monday though seems like a long wait.

Then again, knowing agents, it wouldn't be a total surprise if Rosenhaus was responsible for the leak in the first place in an attempt to get other teams to make offers for Owens over the next few days.

As JB pointed out, IF this is true the last thing Drew would want is for TO news to get lost in the first 2 rounds of March Madness. IF they signed this would be held till Monday when TO could get more face time.TO loves him some TO...

This deal is done! :bye:
Usually when you say something like that about the Cowboys, you've got a pretty good reason. Care to clue us in?
When Jerry gets back to town, you'll see. Forget the reports you're hearing.........their just spinning the wheel.

Miami!? You must be a Cowboys fan. Why would any one wish that cancer on their team?
