First off, Joe, apologies for the thread but I have to say something.

Are there really posters who are upset over a smile? I know, without a doubt your heart is in the right place.

Instead of taking away, smiles and laughter, might I suggest you tell the people who are upset over emojis, for good or bad, - to grow thicker skin? You know that will actually help them more, right?

I fear you are making concessions for people who will continue to push until only they’re left.

I won’t say anything again or start another thread. I’m sorry. With that said - this seems crazy.

SB22, I'm as miffed as you.
I don't understand what is going on

I did see an exchange in the Shark Pool that I'd rather not post, it did look like the  emoji was being misused
Like if you are arguing or debating back and forth with someone and you hit the :lmao: emoji, it can come across like you're laughing or mocking I guess

People have gotten some thin skin over the years, hate to speculate what triggered all this, it takes a lot of zip out of the threads IMHO
I hope it's just temporary

If so…. Who really cares??
If you spent any time at all in the PSF, you would know that we have a handful of posters who never got over being shoved in lockers in high school. They whine non-stop about the slightest perceived slight, and the result is that the forum gets slightly worse for well-adjusted adults. I'm sure there are some of those folks in the Shark Pool as well, and I just don't know who they are.

As someone who was shoved in a locker in high school, I feel attacked.

Then again, I suppose I'm in the well adjusted anyway category. Or at least well enough? 🤣

And are we correct in assuming you were not ever one of those shoved in the lockers? Were you only a onlooker or a shover rather than a shovee? Just curious.

Yeah, I’m aware. And I know who some of them are in the shark pool too. I won’t name names but…It shouldn’t be that hard to figure out

It is sad really. It is just football
