News: According to the Charlotte Observer, Panthers QB Jake Delhomme, who did not play Sunday with what has been described as a sprained elbow, does not need surgery despite a published report. "There's no surgery scheduled or planned at this time," Carolina general manager Marty Hurney said. "From the very beginning we've said that. We're re-evaluating this on a day-to-day basis while Jake is going through the rehab process. Rehab is the first option, how the body part feels through the process determines what goes on from day-to-day." Delhomme dressed for the game and was designated as the team's third quarterback. A tell-tale sign that the Panthers aren't expecting surgery anytime soon was that they didn't sign a veteran quarterback to the roster last week.
Analysis: It appears Delhomme will be fine, but it's not sure when. Continue to monitor his status and hope he can return soon. The Panthers play at New Orleans in Week 5.
