Of course this is conjecture, but Im listing the picks I feel most comfortable about IF the player falls to that team.

Rams - Michael Huff

Browns - Haloti Ngata

Eagles - Winston Justice

Vikings - Ernie Sims

There's speculation this morning that St. Louis is looking to trade up to the #8 or 9 spot. At first, it would seem their target is Huff, but when asked, the answer was that they are actively pursuing Jay Cutler.

WTF is wrong with Bulger? Seems the Rams wanted Culpepper (I understand the Linehan connection) and now want Cutler.

Health concerns, that's what I figure. He's taken a pounding back there.

this is pretty much a lock, imo.

I would add to that:

Winston Justice to Tampa Bay

(don't think he'll be close)

In order to keep the QB from being killed it would seem a better idea to trade up for OL help :2cents:

I don't disagree with that statement - just answering the question.

Eagles - Winston Justice
I wouldn't feel comfortable in the Eagles picking anybody for sure at 14 - except maybe Ngata. I would bet on DT/WR/OLB/Huff before Justice. IMHO.

Tampa Bay - Chad Greenway (he's been slipping down the lists a bit and would be a nice grab by a team that needs a WLB for the future.)

Brooks has about three more years. Doubt they plug him in at Strongside for that time.It would be a solid pick, but if I were the Bucs I'd shoot for a guy who can replace Brooks' 4.5 physically, maybe a Thomas Howard if he fell in the 2nd round.

I would consider this a good potential pick, but not a "no way they pass on him".

I'd also rule out Justice at Philadelphia (just re-iterating what others have posted).

Vikings - Ernie Sims
I'm not sure about that.
Who would make them pass on Sims? Cutler? an RB?
Cutler, Williams and possibly Greenway. Andy and I have been following Sims closely and we both still feel Sims numerous (possibly 5) concussions in college are a red flag.
:goodposting: I think Greenway is the pick come Sat and if they have half barin they trade up in 2nd round to grab his teamate!

NY Jets - Mario Williams

Raiders - Vince Young

Arizona - Vernon Davis

Philadelphia - Broderick Bunkley
Denver - Vernon Davis
They won't have the chance to pass on him because SF won't pass on him at 1.06.
Agreed. Vernon Davis was just on 1050 ESPN and Steve A. Smith asked him, "which NFL offense would you choose to play for if you had your pick of them all." Without hesitation Vernon says, "the 49ers and Norv Turner." Smith was incredulous b/c of how much the 49ers suxor but Davis held fast and then elaborated about how he just had a "great" visit with the 49ers earlier this week.In other words, Davis has "the promise" from Nolan and the Niners brass.

Except for the trade part, it is a distinct possibility that the Vikes end up with both Greenway and Hodge.

Arizona and Winston Justice

They wont take Cutler. Both Green and James will be gone by the time he gets good. They may take a defensive tackle, but I think Green makes his move to complete his offense first. He can get Wroten or maybe Watson in the Second. It is debatable if he finds similar talen at the OT spot.

Latest local info from Philadelphia* indicates Eagles are not that interested in Ngata. Would prefer someone more athletic (not that I necessarily agree with that).

They do have a lot of interest in Bunkley (if he falls) and Justice.

Edited: *FWIW

Thanks for passing that on. I guess now it's a sure thing.

So that now makes what.... 10 players they have probably told this "promise" to.

I tend to agree. It seems that in almost every mock Cutler is going to ARZ but Justice makes so much more sense imo.Sure ARZ needs a QB to develop but there are plenty of options out there besides Cutler. It wouldn't shock me at all if they take Justice round 1 and wait until the second day to take an Omar Jacobs.

TEN - Leinart

CAR - White

IND - DeAngelo Williams

PIT - Sinorice Moss

I would have also thought GB - Hawk before Favre decided to return. Now I think there may be an outside chance they take Davis to make the old man happy(and since they may be without their best receiving weapon in Walker).

I was checking out Davis' 40 time, and at 4.38 seconds, it EQUALS the times clocked by WRs Sinorice Moss and Santonio Holmes. That is frightening

Exactly  He's the best WR in this class

Yeah. But I heard he can't block very well so that may push him down to the bottom third of the draft.

I would say it's a lock Ngata won't be on the board for Cleveland unless they trade up.

I wouldn't be so sure...if Buffalo really covets Bunkley as many surmise, Ngata could fall. Personally I think Ngata is a beast, but if you're to believe some of the punditry, not all teams view him as worth of a top-10 selection.

CAR - White
Pittsburgh Fans are going to be disappointed if they think all this 'White could fall to the second round' talk is for real. Carolina is going to take White if he falls that far.

I don't buy it. I'm with you - Ngata is a beast. He's 340 pounds, strong, mean as hell, and has fantastic quickness for his size. He's a vastly better DT prospect than a guy like Dwayne Robertson - teams are smart enough to realize that guys like him are at much more of a premium than other positions.I also think Michael Huff is being underrated, and when all is said and done, will be a top-7 pick. I think the QBs are going to fall.... I've seen all 3 QBs go in the first 4 picks - no way in hell that happens.

It's funny: NFL teams covet great pass-catching TEs that can block, but I am thinking that an Eric Johnson-type player is much more valuable in Fantasy games. What do WE care if he can block?!

pittsburgh has the ammo to leapfrog the panthers. if they want white, they will get him.

If Pittsburgh really wants White and fears Carolina will draft him, they have enough artillery to move up to #26 and snatch him (don't think they will) - they have 3 picks in round 4 and 2 in round 5.. they can easily trade their 4th and 5th rounders (or their 3rd rounder) to move up. Plus, they are going to get compensatory picks next year too, so they can move a future pick without losing much, as they probably won't have the space to roster 10 rookies this year and 9-10 next year.Don't forget - a 3rd rounder got them from #27 to #16 to draft Polamalu just a few years ago. It can be done, and the Steelers will do it if they're sold on White.
