Northern Exposure (1 Viewer)

It was a great show until Fleischman (sp?) started acting like a nutjob.

First 3 seasons =

Season 4 =  :yucky:
:lmao: They were all nutjobs, in every season. That's what made it great. What show were you watching? I think it fell apart when the new Dr. arrived.

Fleischman was always the tiny drop of sanity in the insane universe. He was normal, everyone else was nuts. That's what made the show work. (See: water, fish out of).But by Season 4 even Dr. Fleischman started doing nutty things, and the whole show started to feel contrived. ("Hey everyone, let's be weird for the sake of being weird!") They tried to bring in a new doctor but by then it was too late.

I actually thought Joel was the most insane one of all. All the rest were just kooky, cool, and weird. When he started doing nutty things, it was because he had finally been "saved". Alaska taught him life lessons that it took him three years to learn.

The new Dr. was there because Joel was quitting the show.

I'd like to DL divx versions if the first season. ANyone who might know where an innerweb idiot can find them is welcome to shoot me a PM.

TIA

Great Sasha and Digweed compilation -
This is true - I have that as a single .mp3 that I like to listen to while programming. The show... meh. I lived in Alaska at the time, so I was unable to suspend reality quite far enough to enjoy the show.

I figured Morrow and Turner were headed for bigger and better things after this show ended.

Morrow has had a hit and miss minor movie career and Turner's biggest role was on some Lifetime hospital show--and now she does infomercials for some drug that I have not been able to figure out what it does.

That's odd; I thought they were both very talented actors.

Morrow's back in TV now on that "Numb3ers" show, sort of a CSI meets A Beautiful Mind hybrid (I've never watched it).I always thought Northern Exposure was just a little to cute for it's own good, especially the DJ character and the old lady shop keeper. They tried too hard to be "quirky" and that just didn't sit right with me.

In the early 90's, I worked midnight shift of a days inn front desk. At 2:00 am they showed the replays of that weeks show. I quickly became a fan.

I still giggle watching Numb3rs. It's Dr. Fleishman, Bernard from "The Santa Claus", and their father Alex Reager.
