Mods, this may be borderline AC forum thread, so move it if you wish, but I post it here to hopefully start some conversation for others that may find themselves with similar choices. I will admit that I do want to find out if I took the same players as the FBG guru's would have taken given the same choice.

Here's the scenario: You are picking 10th and 11th (1/2 turn) in a 10 team league. 1 pt 50 yds passing, 1 pt 20 yds rush/rec, 4 pt passing TD, 6 pt rush/rec TD.

First 9 picks: LT, AP, Westy, Addai, LJ  , Brady, Stephen Jackson, Gore, Barber

8 RBs and a QB off the board, You got all the WR's to pick from, all the QBs except Brady, and it looks like the best RBs are Portis, Lynch, Grant, McGahee, etc.

Your choices are endless, you can go RB/RB or WR/WR or RB/WR or RB/QB or WR/QB.

You're on the clock. Go! (keep in mind the scoring system. non PPR)

I won't post my picks yet, I'll post them a bit later. I may move on to later picks in this draft if responses warrant it. This was my first real draft of the 2008 season.

gotta go CP / Moss here

or lynch/Moss depending on your board

try some 10 team mocks @ fantasyfootballcalculator.com and see how they fall. very active and drafts going off (w/ real drafters) all the time.

Portis/Moss
Agreed.ETA: Although, I finished up a 10 team draft (2 QB league) where the guy in the 10th spot went RB/RB....this allowed him the flexibility to grab WR/WR in rounds 3 and 4. FWIW, he ended up with Lynch/Gore/Chad Johnson/Colston.However, Moss wasn't on the board at 10 either. That is a no brainer IMO.

Thanks guys, pretty much a no brainer at 1/2 I guess. Thanks thecardiackid, I've done probably 30 or so mock drafts at that site, and had what I felt was the best team going RB/RB with Portis and Lynch (I really like Lynch this year) I wasn't expecting Moss to be there, so it threw me a little bit. I wanted Lynch bad at that spot, but ended up passing and going with Portis/Moss.

Does anyone want me to go on? I made a big reach at the 3/4 turn. Had 1 huge steal at the 5/6 turn. 1 huge steal ate the 7/8 turn, Took a kicker too early at the 9/10 turn (a good one though) 2 steals at the 11/12 turn.

I don't want to turn this thread into a my team thread, but if anyone wants me to post what my choices were in a real (not mock) draft were, I will do it, If not, I will let this thread die. I got my reassurances at the 1/2 turn, but if I can help anyone else out by listing my choices, then I will.

I'd have gone TO and Moss. Its a TD heavy league and those guys find the endzone in bunches. Plus its a 10 team league, so while you're locked into taking 1 RB in your next set of picks you can find players later in the draft and off waivers.

I would have taken

Portis and Lynch - But im of the old school of thought.

Im intrigued as how ur draft panned out, i have my 2 main 10 team drafts coming in the next week.

Me too. And it's a 10 team league. Every pick should be a 'steal'.

What are your starting lineup requirements?

with 1 pt per 20 yrds Ru/Rec, i think i have to agree that the move here might be TO/Moss since TD's are king in your league. In a standard league, i like Lynch and Portis, but they are more yardage than TD guys in my opinion (Portis had 11 LY ; Lynch had 7). Tough choices. Portis/Moss is nice too. Wayne is an option of course.

You are probably better off in the draft position threads (i.e. 10th pick thread)
My bad, I forgot about those threads. I drank a little at the draft, and just posted this without thinking.

Starting requirements are QB 2RB 2WR TE K D.I did some mocks starting WR/WR and didn't like it as much. (Although Moss never made it in my mocks, so it was TO/Wayne in my mocks) I really wanted at least 1 RB that was close to top tier and not have a RBBC guy as my RB1.

1.10 Portis2.1 Moss3.10 Bush4.1 Len Whale (a reach, I know)5.10 Big Ben6.1 Steve Smith (Holy crap the suspension made him fall too much)7.10 Thomas Jones (wow)8.1 Santana Moss9.10 David Garrard10.1 Mason Crosby (a reach, but long FG's score too many points in this league IMO, and I missed out on the TE and D runs, so I started the K run)11.10 Anthony Gonzalez (God bless my leaguemates using outdated cheat sheets)12.1 Da Bears (9th D off the board, wow)13.10 Owen Daniels (last one to get a TE, some teams had backups already. Missed out on Heath Miller because someone took him as a backup)14.1 Chris Johnson (finally opened the CHris johnson hype thread, Got the TE backfield covered hopefully)15.10 LaMont Jordan (Meh, if something happens to Maroney, I got trade bait)16.1 Nate Burleson (good value, if he sucks, I gotta cut someone for K, TE, and D byes)

In a TD heavy league you can be tempted to go with whoever scored the most TDs last season (TO/Moss would be the logical choice). However, you can find a WR who will s core 8-10 TDs easily in round 3/4. With RBs there's only a handful who can score 10+ this season.

I would have probably went Portis/Moss and I would have been upset about it. I do NOT like Moss this year to be the #1 WR. Top 5, yes. 23 TDs again, no. Moss is good for probably 15-17 TDs this season, which would still put him #1 overall TDs for WRs last season, but I just am not a fan of Moss this year as the #1 WR. But, you made the only picks you could have made (Portis/Moss).

Look at what was avalible later for RBs- you got Bush and White. White's not a good pick at all because Johnson is seriously creaping in on him. Thomas Jones was availible much later, making me think who you passed up for White. I have Jones ranked 2 spots under Bush...

You can always get WR talent later, which you did in S. Moss and Gonzalez. I just think the mistake with White will come back to bite you big time. You only need to start 2 RBs. So you picked a bench player over some much better WRs who would have started for you.

But back to the point of this thread- WR/RB was the way to go because no way any of those guys make it back down to you. And you'd look pretty bad with Bush as your #1 RB, though with TO/Moss that might not be too bad- I just don't think either of them are as good as last year in the TD category.
