Now how powerful are the Patriots? (1 Viewer)

Not to take away from the Pats... but the 16-0 rhetoric seems a little less plausible, now that we see how good the Chargers really aren't... otherwise the Jets and Buffalo... anyone watching that matchup today knows how good they aren't.... Pats are still a Top 5 team... but have they played anyone worth much in the first 3 weeks.

Tomorrow night might be interesting, pending what Bungle team shows up... the one with defense, or the one without.

do you really want to know how powerful or do you just wanna hate some more? We'll find out in week 6 just how powerful they are when they play Dallas on the road. They wont be tested until then.

IMO they are a good solid Team.. Why is everyone talking 16-0 after 3 weeks. Its just stupid.. I dont think they will go 16-0.. ANY nfl team could jump out at beat anyone on a given week. Im not sold on the NE running game. .NE and Indy are the teams to beat.. Bit talking 16-0 is stupid and going 16-0 is useless.. Its all about the playoffs :lmao:

The teams they've beaten don't look very strong right now. The Steelers showed today that dominating the teams you're supposed to beat doesn't necessarily mean you're a great team.

The thing the Patriots have going for them is that they haven't even broken a sweat yet. Neither Maroney nor Morris hsa really blown up yet, but the Patriots were fourth in the league in rushing offense coming into this week. Stallworth has barely made an appearance yet, and the Patriots have been killing the clock in the fourth quarter, yet the Pats came into the week third in the league in passing offense, on 88 pass attempts (compared with 138 by Detroit and 125 by Cincinatti). The Patriots were first in overall offense, and second in overall scoring by two points to the Cowboys. But they were also first in the league in defense, and allowed the fewest plays in the NFL. On special teams, they tied an NFL record for longest kickoff return in history, while punting just four times. The second fewest in the league coming into this week was 7, then a couple teams with 9, and 21 teams in the NFL had 12 or more. Think about that for a minute - 2/3 of the league averages four punts per game, while the Pats have only punted four times all season.

The reason people are so excited about this team isn't just the fact that they're crushing the teams they've faced, it's that they look close to perfect. If you haven't seen them play much yet, maybe you'll feel differently tomorrow night.

Actually it's not a fishing expedition. I think it's valid. I think they are STILL one of the TOP teams in the NFL... but not some clear and above #1 with none close... look at the record of whom they beat... that's all... it's not like they beat Indy, Pittsburgh and dare I say... (no, not going to say Green Bay).
 This is the definition of a fishing expedition. This team was dominant last season, and added Randy Moss, Adalius Thomasamong others to the equation. The common opponent philosophy does not apply in this case.nothing to see here.

 Beating teams down is one thing but beating them before they have a chance to breathe is another thing. The Jets/Chargers/Bills were out of the game by the 3rd quarter. And BB put on the brakes in all of those games (he left many points on the board as to not run up the score).

Brady to Moss. Seeing is believing. MNF should be special.
