What I've learned from this thread is that the Germans stood idly by as we bombed Pearl Harbor

And a few things about pink shorts

Maybe you missed the part where I spent 10 MINUTES (600 seconds) of my valuable time waiting, only to have my spot usurped by a guy in pink shorts who think he's too good to wait in line. And what about the unfortunate people behind me? If I don't put an end to this violation of social norms, who will? And where does it end with pink shorts if I allow him to be appeased like this?

If he had a popped collar or was wearing a sweater you had the duty to punch him in the face. Otherwise, you simply should have called him in for a DUI and let fate determine whether he was pulled over or not.

Was he a big guy? Intimidating? He just ignored people yelling at him?

You don't understand Los Angeles gas prices. I passed a gas station yesterday that was $1.60 more per gallon ($4.75) than I paid at Costco ($3.17 premium).

Sure I could scout around for gas that's close to Costco's price (best would be ~.25 more) but it's not worth it when I go to Costco every week anyway. Besides, 10 minutes is nothing when I've already spend an hour in the store and it's another 20 minutes to get back home.

Gas here in Charleston is a little over $2 a gallon and there are never any lines. You should just come here to fill up.

Nope, little guy...we're just ####ies in Los Angeles.

The bolded, yep, that's exactly what he did, although he got in his car as soon as the pump started.
