Is this a good spot to go RB, WR, WR, RB? Anyone tried it? What did you wind up with? I'm dreaming of a team with:

Addai

Wayne

Colston

Jacobs

Am I dreaming?

Depends on your scoring....Brady went 3rd overall in my 12 team draft, as we have 6 pt QB TD's. I took Westy in the 1st, then B.Edwards, Fitz, then B.Jacobs in the 4th. QB's went pretty fast in my league as Brady, Romo and Manning all went in the 1st. Very different drafting than last year. I think people are willing to change their draft strategy this year. I didn't know my draft position until about 5 minutes before the draft this year, so all I knew was that I was going to take a RB in rd 1, then let the draft come to me. I feel I did pretty well, but did end up going RB,WR,WR, RB. In doing this, I was picking WR when everyone else was picking RB and then I was picking RB when everyone else was trying to get WR and it worked out for me.

RB-WR-WR-RB is not a bad strategy at #4, but yes you are dreaming if you expect those players to fall to you.

You'd be looking at more like:

Addai

Holt

Ocho Cinco

Edge

I've done several mocks from the four hole and MJD is always there in round two staring me in the face. Fitzgerald and The Chad are usually the best WRs available. How can I not go RB-RB this year? When I don't grab MJD in the mocks, he goes in the next few picks giving someone a deadly combination of ADP-MJD or LT-MJD. That looks pretty scary to me.

Addai? What about Jackson, Gore, or MB3? I think there'll be a run on WRs this year... I'd go RB/RB if that run drops MJD or Grant to you in round 2.. you still might be able to grab Megatron in round 3. And just be a contrarian, it might be worth grabbing Brees in round 3. I'm in a 16-team league with a Banzai (3rd round flip) draft format, so I gotta go RB/RB/WR/WR.. hoping for: S-Jax, Jacobs, Megatron, and Cotchery... thoughts?

Sitting at the 4 spot in a draft tomorrow and having a time myself. Standard scoring 6 pts all TDs. The top 3 will be LT2, AP and Brady. At 4 I have been on Westy all week but somehting is scaring me about him this year. Have entertained going Moss here as he is at 5 overall on the DD with my league scoring. Have even thought about SJax at this point and Addai, so I guess you could say I'm on somewhat of a fence. I like some of the RBs that may fall in the 2nd so taking Moss does not scare me, I just think the 4 spot is too high for WR. Real decision may be down to Westy/SJax/Addai.

I think good RB value can be had in the 3rd/4th round this year.

All 3 scare me... I'm even looking at Gore (0.5PPR) or MB3... MB3 is in a mini RBBC, but he was solid even when he was splitting carries with JJ. I see Gore as high risk/reward in a PPR format and I see MB3 as a safe option, although we'll probably give up some upside since Dallas doesn't want to run their bellcow into the ground.

First thre picks are

LT, Westy, ADP

1 point per reception for WRs, 12 team league

Is it too early for Moss?

Will Addai, SJax, or MBIII be better?

I took Moss in a similar setup. I think he is the safest to produce big points for me out of those options. While I used to be high on Addai, I no longer think his upside is very great. SJax is a big risk, big reward, and MB3 is less of a risk to perform but his opportunities might be limited. Moss is in the same situation as last year, and should be a lock for 85+ receptions, 1300+ yards, and 12+ TDs.

I'm at 4 in an 8 man league. Right now thinking RB/WR/QB/RB. Mocking Sjax/Wayne/Romo/Grant. Be pretty happy even with big starters per squad.

VBD says to take him. My concern is giving uo an opportunity to get one of the few sure things at RB this year. The Moss pick is safe but it means having to take chances at RB.

Remember that half of the 1st round RB picks usually end up busting anyway! That's why I was ok taking RB in the later rounds.

I have my first big draft tonight and after some mocks, this is what Ive found for a basic rules 12 teamer:

I had been planning on goin RB-WR-WR, but some wrinkles:

Larry Johnson has been there a number of times in the late second - that team scares me too much but its intruiging.

Ryan Grant is there often in the THIRD... VERY hard to pass up, but then you dont get a chance to capitalize on some of the late RB talent there in the next two rounds.

QBs seem to be going quickly this year - I have seen the top guys PLUS Carson Palmer off by my third pick, though sometimes no one other than Brady and Manning are there.

So, for pick two, my questions: Do I snag LJ if he is there? Do I consider a QB or grant if I feel the WR I want will make it past the turn?

For Pick three: Do I take Ryan Grant - is he too much a stud potential RB to leave, even though I will likely miss out on much of the WR run?

Its Grant down to say Willie Parker and Michael Turner at RB.

Its Plaxico or better down to Boldin at best, maybe Holmes (maybe he is gone) and maybe not even that in the 4th... where you seem to have great #3 WRs but not great #2 options.

Thoughts from the peanut gallery?

I ended up goingRB/WR/WR/RBI waited a long time on QB and ended up with Schaub.
That is MOST likely what I will do, but the debate of Romo in the 2nd/3rd, or Brees/Palmer in the 3rd is still there...and Ryan Grant in the third? Can you pass that up? (Of course, if he is there, perhaps you have a better chanc eto see a Michael Turner drop to you in the late 4th)ETA - in a mock this morning, QBs flew off the board and I did not bite on grant in the third... the result is that no QB was there who really caught my eye in the 5th when I had 2RB and 2WR and actually went Gates, something I had not planned all year but may consider.
