NYJets are THE defense to avoid this year (1 Viewer)

Move over, Baltimore. After suffering through terrible games from various players on several teams I manage , I've decided to sit virtually ANYONE facing the J-E-T-S. In addition to a stiff defense, they have a nice turnover ratio (+3) and a ball control offense - 33 minutes to the opponents' 26 minutes. Consider what Rex Ryan's boys have done through 3 weeks to various players:

Week 1: Texans

Schaub: 166 yards, 1 INT
AJohnson: 4 for 35
Daniels: 3 for 37
Slaton: 9 for 17It's worth noting that Schaub threw 7 TDs in the next two games, and AJ had a monster game, and Daniels was pretty good too. Slaton has still been slow, however.

Week 2: Patriots

Brady: 216 yards, 1 INT
Moss: 4 for 24Edelman, however, had a decent game with Welker out 8 for 98.

Week 3: Titans

Collins: 170 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT
Chris Johnson: 22 for 97, no TDsThe Titans could've had more offensive production, however, they muffed a punt and fumbled a kickoff return.

The Jets upcoming schedule: @New Orleans, @Miami, and @Buffalo. Other than Drew Brees, I will consider sitting almost every other player on those teams, including: Colston, PThomas, Reggie Bush, Ronnie Brown, Trent Edwards, TO, Evans, Lynch/F.Jackson.

Aw give me a friggin' break about benching studs. :goodposting:

In my league, Chris Johnson was worth 11 points this week against The Jets.

He gave me RB2 numbers but I had Willie Parker to compliment him. And if I would have had the guts to play him, Pierre Thomas.

Aw way to pick out a single guy, and ignore the point. True, CJ had 11 points. I started him, and I probably wouldn't have benched him for Addai or Brown, even though both outscored him. Fact is, CJ's 11 points are the most the Jets have allowed to a RB in 3 games. Edelman has the single highest score against the Jets in 3 games at about 18 points. the 3 QBs have averaged less than 10 points (WCOFF scoring).

I'm talking about the general idea to avoid the Jets if you have better options. Other than Peterson, MJD, and Brees, there's really no one who I would consider a MUST-start against them. You might get lucky and gets RB 2/3 or WR2/3 numbers from your stud, but you might not. That's the trend.

It all depends on your team and your definition of a stud. I recommended sitting CJ3 this week. 11 points? meh. i'll call that a wash. that's not stud production.

he was worth a very pedestrian 4 in my league which uses a different scoring system.

i don't foresee pierre thomas or m. colston putting up much against the jets. but i will be stuck playing both since the byes start this week. revis will shut down colston. he might get have an OK game if he gets a TD, but i would be surprised if he had 50 yards and more than 4 catches. thomas will be looking to get 50 yards rushing. since bush is healthy, he has no chance to get the receiving stats we were all used to getting late last year.

In my dynasty league, I made the same exact roster decision: started CJ and benched PThomas. It's generally my policy to sit a player in his first game back from injury unless absolutely necessary. However, I didn't have the luxury of playing the Gore owner like you. If I had played Thomas over CJ, I would've won this week. Lesson learned. Avoid the Jets.

Well, I didn't learn. Started Colston in two leagues, Brees in one. Wrote in to the Audible and Sigmund Bloom said to expect big days from all the Saints.

Brees - 190 yards

Colston - 2 for 33

Shockey - 4 for 34

The only Saint who did have a nice game was PThomas. Started him in one league.

Could be worse- you could have started Mcfadden and B. Edwards and got a big stinking 0 for 2 positions!

Haha, unfortunately I did start DMC somewhere else... another lesson learned: Do not start any Raider or any Brown, no matter how 'juicy' the matchup.

Yeah, I also went back and forth on wether to start Mcfadden or D. Brown. Sigmund also said Mcfadden was the start, I should have listened to my gut! Didn't really effect my game- I played the guy with the 49'ers defense, would have lost anyway.

could have been worse if the saints had tried to score in the last 7 minutes of regulation but those points probably would have went to Thomas also.
